Y/n Stark and The Black Widow

Missing

~Steve's POV~

I arrive back at the quinjet to meet back with Y/n so we can go back to the compound to have a look at this mind control device...but she's not here.

"Y/n?" I call out..no response.

I try to talk to her over comms "Y/n, where are you? I told you to meet me back at the quinjet". Still no response.

"maybe she's in the quinjet and her comms aren't working" I think to myself. I enter the quinjet and look around for her.

"Y/n? Are you in here?"...still nothing. This is getting concerning.

I decide to go back and check the building. I search it from top to bottom, calling out to her but there is still no response. Nothing. No trace of her.

"Where are you, Y/n..."

I head back to the quinjet and make my way to the compound, getting ready to break the news to everyone.

~Nat's POV~

I hear the sound of the quinjet land, shortly followed by footsteps. They're back, finally! They've been gone for hours, I hope Y/n's okay, this was her first mission without me.

I hear the sound of someone entering the room.

"Hey, welcome back..." I look up as Steve enters...alone, "you..two? Steve, where's Y/n?" Steve over looks at me, something feels wrong.

"Nat..." Somethings happened, something bad. Why is he using that tone? What has happened, where is Y/n? Why isn't she with him?

"Don't 'Nat' me, where the hell is my girlfriend?" I feel my heart race, fear plagues my mind.

He's silent for a moment. "...I don't know".

"What do you mean you don't know? Where is she, Steve?"

"I just told you, I don't know! One second she was talking to me over comms..." he pauses "..the next, she was gone."

My heart stops as I process his words. She's gone, she's missing.

"She's gone? You lost her?!" He lost her? How can he lose her?

"You promised me you wouldn't let anything happen to her and now you're telling me she's gone?!" anger mixes with the fear in my mind.

I hear the footsteps of the other entering the room.

"What's with all the yelling?" I hear Tony ask, the man who sent her, who sent Y/n specifically, on this mission without telling us why.

"Steve here lost Y/n on the mission you sent them on" I look over to him, anger in my eyes.

He stops in his tracks "What.."

Wanda's voice calls out "Y/n's gone?" fear subtlety in her voice.

"Yep, and it's all because of these two" I nod in the direction of Tony and Steve.

Tony looks at me "me? How the hell is this my fault?"

"You were the one who told Steve to take her on that stupid mission for no reason!" I yell.

"I didn't tell him to take her for no reason! I had a reason and a good one too!" he yells back.

"Oh, well please, enlighten us with your 'good reason' then!"

"Guys! Fighting isn't going to help us find her!" Steve tells over us.

"Steve's right. We need to gather everyone and come up with a plan to find her." Wanda suggests.

I sit down, tears threaten to fall from my eyes. "What if something really bad has happened to her.."

Wanda walks over to me "Don't think like that, we'll find her" she smiles gently, attempting to comfort me.

"I really hope so.."

After a few moments I stand as tears start to fall. I go into Y/n's room locking the door behind me.

I fall to the ground and lean back against the door as a cry escapes me.
I can't help but think of the worst case scenario.

Y/n is missing.
She's gone.
We don't know where she is.
We don't know what's happened to her.
We don't know what is happening to her right now.
We don't know anything.
Just that she's gone.

I look over to her bed where her favourite hoodie lays. I stand and walk over to her bed, picking the hoodie up. I hold it close and sit on the bed.

My mind won't stop racing, I just want her to be safe in my arms. I want to hold her and never let go.

I lay on her bed as I cry, hugging her hoodie, I continue to cry until I fall asleep late in the night.

Hey, sorry, I know this part is short but fear not! I will be doing another part today. I just felt like it the line I ended this one on was a good line to end on. But anyway, a longer part will be up hopefully today, otherwise I'll get it out tomorrow!
