MADDY and Rory became friends when they were 7 and they instantly clicked.

Some random racist girl in their grade started touching Rory's hair because she thought it was fake.

So Rory scratched the girl's face and started to fight her. Maddy joined in because the same girl was chatting shit about Hispanic people an hour before.

When the teachers broke up the fight the girl instantly started playing the victim and called her parents in.

So obviously Rory called her Grandad in.

Luca was pissed when they heard what happened to his little girl and cursed out the teachers for stopping the fight and not punishing the girl's racist actions.

Maddy envied the way he stood up for his granddaughter, her father never did that for her, she envied a lot about Rory but she tried not to show it.

Even though neither she nor Rory didn't do anything wrong they still had to go to detention, which was where they began plotting revenge.

They realised how much they had in common and have been best friends ever since.

They made a vow that they would never intentionally hurt each other or let anyone else hurt the other.

But I guess most vows were made to be broken.

During the weekend Rory spent those days coming in and out of the hospital.

Her grandfather was alive and was slowly recovering with the help of a great nurse as well as Rory.

His heart attack was brought on by a buildup of fatty deposits.

She blamed herself when she found out.

She wondered if she should've cooked healthier things.

Forced him to eat more vegetables.

More fruit.

She didn't sleep, meaning she was up for 72 hours, cooking and preparing for when he returned home.

Kat and Lexi helped her, they tried getting her to stop and get some rest but she couldn't sleep since she felt like she was the cause of her grandfather's heart attack.

Rory let Maddy stay and help for only one night, she didn't want her to stay for longer than that since she knew that she was going through her own thing and didn't want to add on more pressure and stress.

Fezco and Ashtray visited, they were extremely worried about the girl they considered a part of their family

They knew that she blamed herself and that she would do everything in her power to prevent it from happening again. But they didn't want her to break down and fall into a deep depression, which they could see happening.
