Hugh and I walk to the stables in silence. Oddly enough walking with Hugh was awfully peaceful and not at all an awkward silence. When we get to the stables I see that a carriage was already set for us to take out. I look at him a bit confused and he just shrugs nonchalantly at me.
We get onto the carriage and then head out to the village to begin our tour.
"Over there is the church that everyone typically goes to on Sundays, Mother and Father go but they don't make Nathaniel, Avery and myself go. I think they are going to make Nathaniel start going soon," I start by point over to the old looking church that may need to get fixed soonish.
"What about that building?" Hugh asks me pointing to the building that's about to fall over.
"That's the old coal mine, no ones really allowed to go over there. It's been like that since before my brothers and I were born." I explain.
All of a sudden the carriage stops and Hugh stands up to exit the carriage.
"What are you doing?" I ask confused.
"Well the best way to really get a tour of this beautiful place is to walk and to meet people," Hugh explains holding a hand out for me to take so he could help me up.
"I don't think that would be a very good idea."
"And why not Princess? Too scared?"
"No I am not," I respond standing up taking his hand slowly.
We walk out of the carriage Hugh in the lead holding onto my hand like its a piece of glass, as I get out of the carriage I am blinded by how bright it is outdoors and hear a few people whispering about me being in the village.
I glance over at Hugh nervousness spreading throughout my face, he squeezes my hand softly and continues to hold it as we start to walk through the village. As we walk through I see people staring at me and pointing towards Hugh and I, whispers increasing around us as I attempt to show him everything in our quaint little kingdom.
All of a sudden a little girl comes up to me and pulls on my skirt gently.
"Hello little girl what's your name?" I ask smiling and bending down so I'm at her height.
"I'm Abigail. I really like your dress Princess," She says to me.
"Well Abigail thank you, but I like your dress even more. I actually think its missing one thing though," I respond smiling. I nod over to the guards that are with Hugh and I, and one of them hands me a fake princess tiara like mine. I gently place it on Abigails head and say "there now your outfit is perfect."
Abigail looks up at me with a gigantic smile not being able to utter any words. Hugh lightly taps onto my shoulder and as I look up at him I see him smiling down at me and Abigail.
"Princess its time to go, you don't want to be late for the ball," the guard that handed me the tiara says.
I look at him and nod.
"Abigail have you ever been to a ball before?" I ask her smiling. She shakes her head no.
"Would you like to go to one?" I ask her. With the gigantic smile still on her face she nods her head over and over again almost knocking the tiara off of her head. I stand up and look at Hugh with pleading eyes to let me bring her with us for the ball this evening. He just smiles at me and gives me a small nod looking down at how adorable Abigail looks.
I bend down again to be at Abigails height and start.
"Well Abigail, where are your parents I would like to ask them something."
