6 - Success?

"Hey Kurama, I'm gonna need some chakra..."

"Hello to you too Naruto," snarled the fox.

"Kurama, this isn't the time-"

"I know... chakra coming your way now." Kurama clapped his hands together and I began to feel his chakra flow into my body. It was as if a floodgate was being opened, and thousands upon thousands of gallons of water crashed onto my body. My chakra cloak appeared and covered my body, making me glow a bright yellow. My whiskers thickened and my pupils took the shape of Kurama's and Sage mode combined. The ninja that were previously charging at me stopped dead in their tracks, and stared at me in shock.

"What- what the hell are y-you," one said, stepping back further.

"He's a jinchuuriki, that's what." I turned around, and Sasuke appeared around a tree, smiling proudly.

"There's another?? Kill him instead!" yelled the first attacker. Oh no they don't. I extended one of my chakra arms to grab the man at the front. I proceeded to throw him into a clump of bushes on the other side of the clearing. This scared them even more to the point where they completely disregarded their leader's orders, and began running away from Sasuke and I.

"None of you are going anywhere!" yelled Sasuke. A purple hue appeared around his body as he activated his sharingan. A complex pattern appeared on both his eyes, a combination of both his and his late brother Itachi's mangekyou sharingans. The susano'o grew, going through the different stages, all the way from skeletal, to a perfect susano'o. A bit overkill I thought. By now, even the leader had given up, and started running away from the 100 meter chakra monster behind him.

I couldn't let them all get away though, so I ran forward, catching up in a fraction of a second. I used my chakra arms to grab them all, and carry them back to the clearing. The previously tough-acting rogue ninja, were now squealing like newborn babies. I felt an inkling of pity. I mean, they had no idea what they were about to walk into, but they still chose to attack, so the inkling of pity left as soon as it came. I placed them in the center of the clearing, and none dared to move. Sasuke and I still needed to go to Sunagakure, so we had to hurry this up.

"What are we going to do with these bastards?" the raven asked. He had dispersed his susano'o as it was now unnecessary, but he kept his sharingan active.

"We should tie them up and take them back to the village once we finish with the Kazekage."

"Yeah, that's a good idea." And so, we both tied them all together with a thick rope after robbing them all of their weapons. For good measure, Sasuke created a ring of fire around them with his Amaterasu, and we left them, gagged and struggling to scream for help.

"Don't you think you went a bit overboard with the susano'o?" I asked. Sasuke blushed, I wondered why.

"Well, you can never be too sure. Plus, I wanted to make sure you were safe-"

"HEY! I'm not that weak you know, I can hold my own, bastard..." Pouting, I turned my head away. I dispersed my chakra cloak as I wouldn't need it anymore, and gave my thanks to Kurama.

"Let's start heading to the Kazekage now, we're probably really late now," suggested Sasuke. He's right, the sun had fully risen now, and was blaring down on us. I agreed with the raven and we began our journey to Sunagakure.

"And who are you two, exactly?" We had finally reached the village, and were stopped by some guards at the entrance. They seemingly weren't told about our arrival.

"I'm Naruto Uzumaki, and this is Sasuke Uchiha," I pointed to my left where the raven was standing. "We're here to deliver a scroll to Lord Gaara. It's urgent"

"Do you have the scroll on you?" the man asked suspiciously.

"I do, yes." Sasuke pulled the scroll out from his vest after answering, and handed it over to the guard. He inspected it closely, his comrade keeping an eye on us. After he presumably deemed it good-to-go, he gave us permission to make our way to the Kazekage's office with an escort. Once we got to the door of the room, I knocked, and heard Gaara's raspy  voice reply with an "Enter."

The escort waited outside beside the door, and Sasuke and I stepped inside. Gaara was seated in his chair by his desk. Behind him were some windows looking over the village. He was dressed in his Kazekage cloak and hat, staring at us with a small smile on his face.

"Hello Naruto, Sasuke," he greeted us, nodding respectively at us both. I smiled back and Sasuke nodded with his usual emotionless face. I walked over to Gaara's desk and handed over the scroll Sasuke gave me earlier.

"Sorry if we were a bit late, we encountered some rogue ninjas we had to deal with first," I said guiltily, rubbing the back of my head. 

"It's no problem, I don't mind at all." Gaara gave his thanks for the scroll and added that he would send a messenger bird with an encrypted reply soon. I took this as a dismissal and bid farewell. Our escort waiting outside, took Sasuke and I back to the entrance of the village. We thanked him too, and made our way back to Konoha. We decided it might be best to hurry back and not stop since we ate all our food, so I borrowed Kurama's chakra again for a speed boost and Sasuke once again used his susano'o, but this time to fly. Show off...

"Status report?" We both made it back to the village extremely tired. Although the trip was shorter than the first one, it was still exhausting. I could imagine Sasuke was still sore, and we had both used a lot of chakra in the earlier fight and our travels. Now we were in Lady Tsunade's office, and she was asking for our account of what happened.

"Everything went smoothly and just as planned. Well, except for when these guys attacked us by the cabin." I nodded my head towards the rogue ninjas Sasuke and I grabbed from the clearing on our way back home.

"I see. We'll question them for their motives, but otherwise, thank you for completing the mission. You two did great as always." Baa-chan smiled and dismissed us, ordering us to get some proper rest.

"Whew, that was a long day. I'm ready to pass out the second I get home, what about you Sasuke?" I asked.

"Yeah, same. I'm tired and my ass still hurts..." he complained grumpily. I giggled.

"And now, why would your ass hurt Sasuke?" Oh no. I ever so slowly turned around, just to see Kakashi-sensei standing behind us. The jonin was probably smiling under his stupid mask. Meanwhile, Sasuke blushed furiously and stuttered out a weak:

"N-nothing sensei..." It was so obvious he was lying.

"I don't believe you Sasuke. Did you and Naruto have some fun by any chance?" I was shocked. This guy!! He always has to come at the worst possible time, and I'm afraid, there was nothing I could say to convince him otherwise.

"You know what, we're leaving. Bye sensei!" I wrapped my arm around the back of Sasuke's neck and I dragged him with me, walking away from the white-haired ninja. I swear I heard him laughing.

"Naruto, if one more goddamn person finds out, I swear to God I will kill you."

"What!?? I didn't even do anything, Sasuke." I loved him, but this emo fucker gets on my nerves sometimes. Right now, I just didn't have the energy to stay mad, so the second we reached my place, we collapsed on my bed next to eachother. I know what our next mission will be though; find out what Kakashi looks like under his mask. Third time's the charm right? Anyway, enough thinking for now. These past two days had been a rollercoaster of emotions, and I was rightfully tired. So I let the darkness engulf me, falling into a deep sleep, and being the happiest I've ever been.
