The test came back quickly and the evidence was damning. Lan Xing wanted to hide the results from Shen Yi, but a single raised brow directed at her and she folded like a wet paper. Trembling hands handed over the results and they both stared at the sheet displaying all the toxins that can be found inside that single, innocent thermos of soup.

"Fuck!" Lan Xing couldn't help but curse. "What is this nonsense? What exactly have I done to offend people. All this started after my break-up, it can't be a coincidence, right?"

Shen Yi put aside the paper and then blinked. "Have you called the police?"

"No," Lan Xing shook her head. "Should I?"

"It's attempt murder, of course," Shen Yi smiled. Why should he do the work of people? If someone attempts to kill you, call the police. He was never the one who did his own dirty work, that was way too troublesome. Always easier to just leave it to the professionals, after all.

"You're right," Lan Xing pressed a hand against her forehead. "I'm fucking stupid. I'll do it later, we already have evidence so let's handle our current situation first. God! I feel like my IQ has dropped ever since dating that piece of shit. Seriously, I feel so dumb."

"You did date him, after all." Shen Yi closed his eyes. "Your IQ had to drop for you to even look at someone like that as a potential date."

"Good talk," Lan Xing replied dryly, looking at her brother who fell asleep again. Why the hell was this brother of hers sleeping so much these days? "Why are you sleeping again?"

Shen Yi opened one eye to look at her, "Why not?"

"It's bad for health to sleep too much."

"Can I get worse than I already am?"

Okay, fine. You win.

The next day, it was time to move hospitals, or rather to move out of this one. Shen Yi very obediently did not lift a single finger to help, his job was just to sit on the side and look pretty. Oh, and to hold the IV drip, of course. He stared at his busy sister who was clearing out the room and then turned to look up at the clock. Shiba rolled into his open palm, staring up at him with large eyes.

"Host, are you really not going to manage the network soon?" Shiba asked.

"No." Shen Yi closed his eyes and leaned back against the cold walls of the hospital. "There's no need."

"Ming'er!" Lan Xing ran over, two bags in hand and one slung over her shoulders. She nodded at him to stand up, "Come on, I borrowed a car from my friend. Let's go home, okay?"

The admission to the hospital would actually take place tomorrow, with the ambulance picking him up from home. Shen Yi stood up and dragged himself down the corridor. Despite Lan Ming being said to be bedridden, it's only in terms of technicality. He is incapable of surviving for long periods without being injected with medication but it didn't mean that he isn't capable of walking and doing his own chores.

Lan Ming frequently does walks and enjoy nature. He was a peaceful person, after all. But with Shen Yi being lazy and staying in bed all day, Lan Xing had taken it as a firm fact that they needed a change of scenery. Even her nature-loving brother was bored of the same grass, so why not move?

As Shen Yi sat inside the van, he stared out at the world laid out before him. The buildings outside his window resembled the architecture from the late 22nd century, although the medical advancement was rather backwards compared to the history of the world Shiba had picked him up from.

"Wow! Is that a cleaner robot? I've never seen a one before," Shiba gasped and awed from Shen Yi's shoulders. "Host, do you think it can communicate with me?"
