"Oh!" Kody groaned as Hawk and Aisha lifted him up a few days later when he came back to the dojo. "Double the love."
"You're dad agreed?" Aisha asked as they set him down. "You can stay?"
Kody exhaled with a little nod. "As long as Sensei Lawrence is with us at all times."
"Yeah, and what'd he think about the tattoo?" Hawk pushed Kodys face to the side to look at his neck.
"Oh, he slapped me upside the head." the O'Dell boy cleared his throat with a minor nod. "But, he likes it. It's like when I saved Mantis. He didn't like her at first and now they are best friends."
"Saved Mantis?" Aisha looked in confusion.
"She was in a drain pipe in the rain. I heard her meowing." Kody nodded, pulling his shirt up to show a scar next to his bell button. "Got that and a cold trying to get her, but, it turned out okay."
"So, does your dad hate me now?" Hawk gave a smirk toward Kody. "Think i'm a bad influence?"
"He's always thought you were a bad influence, but, he still likes you." Kody shrugged in return, pulling a sudden look. "And he's cool with me going to your grandparents with you this weekend as long as he can have the address."
"Sweet." Hawk punched his shoulder slightly.
"Everybody, get your gis on. Training starts in five minutes." Sensei Lawrence walked from his office as he looked around at the fully dressed, and confused, students. "Yeah, what's wrong?"
"Nothings wrong. I just thought we were going to the woods for a special training today." Miguel said back, nodding to Sensei Kreese to indicate he had said so.
"What's happening in the woods?" the blonde looked back and forth between the two.
"I went camping in the woods once and got poison oak all over me." Kody spoke up as all eyes looked over at him. "My mom had to tape a bunch of frozen peas onto me. I was like a popsicle right out the freezer!"
"Can it, Koala." Johnny nodded to him, looking to Kreese again.
"Well, I thought it was a good time to separate the men from the boys." Kreese spoke up with a minor clear of his throat. Aisha crossed her arms. "And the girls, too, I suppose."
"How?" Johnny asked him, his eyes having a bit of worry in them.
"Coyote Creek." Kreese gave a half grin his way.
Johnny dropped his voice to a whisper. "I'm not sure they're ready for that."
Kreese chuckled. "There's only one way to find out."
"We're ready, Sensei. We want to prove ourselves." Hawk spoke up confidently, his hands locked behind his back.
Kreese was silent a second. "It's up to Sensei Lawrence. If he says it's okay, then, and only then, is it okay."
