Camp Forest

Chapter 5

Thoughts turn into words, words turn into memories, memories turn into legends, and legends turn into myths.

The sun was just starting to set and the blue ocean sky was now a pink cotton candy color. The clouds were nowhere to be found and the wind rustled the trees softly. 

The camp was still filled with the voices of kids running around and playing. The camp instructors set up a campfire for those who wanted to roast marshmallows. 

I made myself as comfortable as possible but sitting on a long with splinters wasn't that comfy. I grab my stick and a marshmallow, I place it over the fire and turn it back and forth allowing all the sides to get roasted. I'm not one for social interaction but I wish I had a friend to talk to. 

As easy as it is to just go talk to people I'd rather not get attached to anyone. I grab some crackers and chocolate, getting it ready for the marshmallow. I place the marshmallow on the chocolate and cover it with the other cracker.

I look over at my group as they chase one another, "They look like they're having fun...No! KC focus...no attachments." I bite down on my s'more and look away. I continue eating my s'more alone. 

Eventually the camp instructors rounded everyone up and told us to get back to our cabins. It was around 9 when I was finally able to lay down and get some rest. I looked up at the ceiling, the fans spun in endless circles. The room was quiet as everyone slept peacefully, except me of course. 

I yawned as I began to doze off, "I'm so tired..." My eyes shut and I laid still in the bed. I'll soon regret this decision for that night it struck... 

(I Sowwy I know it isn't much but I've been working on some shorts for the Update 'book'. I'll try to make the next chapter longer. I've also been trying to come up with some love books so I've been pretty busy. Along with school and friends and family it's a lot to manage but I promise I will work to get better :')
