And It All Came Tumbling Down

I exit the walls to find Isabela and Mirabel in the courtyard, covered in flowers and color. I smile at the scene before me, the two sisters who never got along are now laughing together. It's a beautiful sight, I start down the stairs. "What is going on?!" I look up to see Abuela entering the courtyard, to her it must loo crazy and dangerous with all of the out-of-control plants. "Abuela!" Mirabel says with excitement, I'm not completely sure she's reading Abuela's tone right. "It's okay, everything's- we're gonna save the miracle, the magic-"  Mirabel continues, before rudely getting cut off. "What are you talking about? Look at our home. Look at your sister!" Abuela says in a very serious tone. "Please, just- Isabela wasn't happy and-" Mirabel was cut off once again.

"Of course she isn't happy, you ruined her proposal" Abuela says, she's getting pissed, I can see it "No, no she needed me to ruin her proposal and then we did all of this and the candle burned brighter and the cracks-" And again. "Mirabel-" But she is unable to silence Mirabel's happiness just yet. "That's why I'm in the vision, I'm saving the miracle!" She finally gets to finish. "You have to stop, Mirabel!" A huge tremor shakes everything. Luisa enters the courtyard, concerned, and stands with Isabela. "The cracks started with you. Bruno left because of you. Luisa's losing her powers, Isabela's out of control, because of you. I don't know why you weren't given a gift, but it is not an excuse for you to hurt this family!" As Abuela says that cracks emerge all around her. I look at Mirabel, her heart breaks as she looks at Abuela. Julieta and Agustín enter, having heard the argument. "You can't just blame her like that!" I shout, Abuela opens her mouth.

"I will never be good enough for you. Will I?" Mirabel says, her voice is sad, it makes me want to cry. "No matter how hard I try." A look of realization washes across her face as she looks at us. "No matter how hard any of us tries. Luisa will never be strong enough. Isabela won't be perfect enough. Alex will never be 'normal' enough! Bruno left our family because you only saw the worst in him-" Mirabel rages, I feel tears prick my eyes as I hear her say words that have needed to be said for a while now. "Bruno didn't care about this family!" Abuela quips, I look at her with fire in my eyes.

"He loves this family !" I shout, Mirabel continues my thoughts for me. "I love this family! We all love this family! You're the one that doesn't care! You're the one breaking our home!" I notice cracks spreading into the town. "Don't you ever-!" Abuela shouts, I hold a hand up. "She's not finished!" I yell, Mirabel continues, "The miracle is dying, because of you!" In this awful moment, a huge cracks rips open between us. We all look at each other horrified.

"No, no, no." Pepa says, stroking her hair. "The candle!" Tio Felix yells, a huge crack nearly rips the House in half. It goes all the way up to the candle, which is quickly melting. It is reetering and threatening to fall into the huge chasm created by the cracks. As everyone tries to catch themselves, Mirabel races to save the candle. "Get me up there!" She shouts, I use my fading gift to lift her to the roof, but after that, it's gone. Isabela tries to use her vines to reach the candle, but her gift also fades and her vines disappear. Casita catches Isabela and breaks her fall. Camilo tries to change his shape to reach the candle, but his gift fades and his powers go out. The house catches Camilo and sets him down to safety, but he can't reach the candle.

I run to the nursery, I have to get everyone's comfort items, I have to comfort my family. I look back to see Casita pushing people out of the House to save them. I thank Casita for desperately using its last bit of power to keep the rest of my family safe. I grab a big bag, I first grab embroidery and needles for Mirabel, lots of art supplies for Cami and Isa, two stuffed animals for Antonio, and books for Dolores and Luisa. I frantically search the wardrobe for something I asked Mirabel to hold on to so I wouldn't lose it. Where is it? Where is the ring? The ring papi gave to my dad? I find it and slide it on my finger. I run to the door and then it all collapses. Everything comes tumbling down, the last thing I see is a piece of Casita coming straight for me. It all fades to black.
