(Haste: 12)
(Atom: 6)
(Denali: 3)Zipp and Hitch were downstairs, cleaning up the house, asking their children to pick up any toys off the ground and into their rooms. Today was going to be busy, so they had to look sharp.
"Eve'one coming, Mommy?" Atom asked, excitedly.
She nodded her head, "Mm-hm."
"Aunt Pipp, Izzy an' Aunt Sunny? Oh, and Grandma too?" He jumped around, waiting for her response.
She chuckled, "Yes, kiddo. All of them are coming. Even, uh-" She looked to Hitch with contrition.
"You didn't." he sighed, then looked to his foals. "We still can't trust him, Zipp. At least, I don't. He broke Sunny's lighthouse, her home. I just don't feel like this is right."
"That was years ago, Hitch," she responded, "He's changed. Didn't you seen him doing charity work after he rebuilt the lighthouse?"
"That was an order from me." Hitch reminded her, grimly. "Hun, I know, we need to forgive others, but, Sprout...I just don't know-"
They heard a knock on the door.
Atom beamed, and opened the door, and they were greeted by Izzy and Sunny.
"Hey guys!" Izzy smiled brightly, and chuckled when Atom jumped into an embrace. "Hey, Atom! Oh, I've missed you! How've you been?"
"'Mazing! Daddy took me to a baseball game this weeken', a-and I got to meet one of the players!"
Hitch slicked his hair back, giving one of his efficient grins, Zipp rolling her eyes. "It was a good game, I'll say. Haven't seen one since I was a colt."
"I remember that." Sunny said. "You were so afraid the bat was gonna hit you." She tried hard to contain her laughter. "You couldn't even watch half of the innings."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever." he grumbled.
"So, where's Haste and Denali?" Sunny asked, curiously, looking upstairs.
"They're in her room. I'll bring them down. Haste!" Zipp called her eldest son. "Could you come down, please? Your Aunt Sunny and Izzy are here."
After a few seconds, Haste flew downstairs, Denali on his back. He landed smoothly, placing her off, looking to them. "Hi. You guys are here early."
"Yeah. But Sunny's always an early bird." Izzy admitted, grinning.
Atom zoomed around both of them, squealing, "This is gonna be awesome! I can't wait to see Aunt Pipp an' Grandma, an' we're gonna have so much fun!"
"Wow," Sunny laughed. "Wonder where he gets his energy from."
"Eh, not me." Hitch shrugged, "I was always lenient."
"Probably from me." Zipp responded, "I always had a spark of energy."
"Indeed." A new voice joined in the conversation, and Atom gasped.
Queen Haven stood next to Sunny, a happy yet sophisticated look on her face.
"Grandma!" Atom flew to her. "You came!"
"Of course. Do you think I would miss a day to see my favorite grandchildren?"
"Only grandchildren." Hitch chuckled.
"Except Aunt Pipp, maybe-" Haste thought.
"Oh no, no, darling," the queen shook her head. "She has so much on her schedule still. Her fans, her music, keeping up online, she doesn't have time to settle down yet."
