(Haste: 11)
(Atom: 5)

(A little fact about Atom here.)

"Okay, glide." Zipp instructed, her eldest son in the air, waiting for the next trick.

Haste spread out his wings, letting the wind carry his body weight, and he closed his eyes, smiling proudly.

"That's my boy!" She cheered.

"Mommy?" Atom looked to his mother. "Can I join?"

She looked down at the little colt, rubbing his head.

"I can teach you a few things, scamp. Haste?"

"Yeah?" He replied from above.

"I'm gonna teach your brother a few things. Do you mind just doing your wing exercises right now?"

"Uh, sure," He drifted back down to the ground, looking at his little brother.

"I'm gonna be just as fast as you!" he piped, grinning excitedly.

"We'll see." The older pegasus said, with a bit of discourage in his tone.

Zipp frowned, seeing her son doing his warmups with less confidence than normally.

"Okay, Atom," She focused her attention back on her other child. "Can you lift yourself off the ground?"

He nodded his head, then spread out his little wings, flapping them rapidly.

"See, Mommy! I'm doin' it! I'm do-" He fell seconds later.

"Oh, hun! Are you okay?" Zipp asked.

"Uh-huh!" He got back up immediately, surprising her. "I'm gonna do it again!"

Twenty seconds in the air, that's an academy record.

"Good job, Atom!" Zipp praised, smiling brightly. "You're going to be a great flier!"

Haste gazed at the two, and he frowned, trying to continue his exercises.

Zipp looked to him, sighing, then said to Atom, "Why don't you go play with your sister for a bit? I need to talk with Haste."

"'Kay, Mommy." he obeyed, going off, leaving her with her oldest child.

"Haste," She walked over to him, "Atom is at the age where flying is essential, and as a late bloomer, it's even more."

He nodded his head. "I know. I just...I thought it was just going to be you and me today."

"Haste. Sometimes things don't turn out the way you want them to be. The only thing you can do is accept it. Don't you want him to learn?"

"Of course I do! I just..." he sighed, "Never mind."

"I'm sorry, sweetie. It's getting late, we should go back in."

"Okay." He said sadly, walking along inside.

Zipp closed her eyes, breathing heavily.

I hope one day he'll understand...
