With the book still weighing on my mind, I decided to read through it again.
I learned that Dracharyn was only a 3 days journey from my town.
Is it worth it? I thought.
The journey seemed too dangerous on my own, and I wouldn't dare ask Siofra to come with me. What if something happened to her?
I paced as thoughts flooded my mind.
"Let's go into town," Siofra suggested, "it'll help clear your mind.
After a moment I agreed. We threw on their shoes and made the walk into town. Laughing and making jokes as we walked.
"I love you," Siofra declared.
I looked at Siofra, surprised, our eyes meeting as I pulled Siofra close. Kissing her softly and finally replying, "I love you too."
"I've waited to hear you say that for so long," Siofra breathed.
We continued on our way into town, holding hands and walking close to each other. When we arrived in town we window shopped a bit, going into a few shops. We spent most of the day trying on clothes and shoes, having a good time together.
A while later as they were walking Siofra and I noticed a group of girls pointing and laughing.
"They're laughing at me," I sighed.
"Just ignore them."
Suddenly one of the girls shouted, "hey Aiyana! How does it feel being the only fairy without magic?" The girls roared in laughter as I tried to hold Siofra back.
"Let me go."
"They aren't worth it."
Siofra sighed and backed off, but not before giving the girls a deadly look.
It was at this point that I decided to set off on the journey to seek the amulet.
"I have to go find that amulet," I stated to Siofra.
"We have to go find that amulet."
"No. I have to go, alone."
"I'm coming with you, Aiyana. And you will not change my mind. I would never let you go alone."
I hesitantly agreed, knowing Siofra wouldn't back down. We went to talk to their parents, and albeit they were nervous to let us go it was ultimately decided we would go. We would be making the journey on horseback, making a few stops to sleep, bathe and eat along the way.
