I ran to the bathroom "god forgive me for what i'm about to do-" i mumbled to myself. I was quickly removing my shoes and shirt, and NO i'm not stripping in the middle of the hallway-

i mean yeah i am BUT i have my costume underneath it so its not like im getting naked

I reach for the hem of my midtown high sweater before pulling it over my head, throwing it into my locker, then reaching for my t-shirt before-

"Hey y/n!" 

"AHH" i raise my hands in a defensive manner before realizing its just ned's friend- what's his name again?? pat? Parker?? PETER!

"HEYY PETE!!" i say quickly trying to hide the fact that i was undressing in an empty hallway-

"wh- what are you doing, we're supposed to be going to souls right no-"

"souls?? what's that?" i ask completely clueless, "its the class where they tell you about soulmates and stuff, gives you tips on how to see the signs and how to find them-" 

I zoned out a little, i started to take in his features,

soft brown eyes, great facial structure, nice jawline, nice pearly whites, soft brown hair that i'd love to run my hand through, i wonder what his skin care routine is? or if he has one. does he use a specific kind of conditioner for his hair? How does it look so good all the time-

"What kind of conditioner do you use?" i ask so suddenly

"wh- what?" he says with a nervous chuckle

"nothing," i look at his biceps and down to his arm-

"woahh what happened to your arm??" I say looking at his scar

"oh, its nothing, its from my soulmate" 

"Soulmate?" 

"yeah, do you believe in soulmates?

"umm, yeah sure! I think they exist. Just not always romantically you know?"

he pauses and tilts his head at me, looking a bit confused

" let me explain, I think there are certain people you will meet in your life who you just connect with more than anyone else, and you just know it isn't a typical thing. like, you just understand each other perfectly."

i pause, looking back at him. He's looking at me, but with a look, not a bad look but a look of.. admiration?

"go on, i'm listening." he gives me a smile. i let out a little laugh and continue,

"Okay, well.. i think this person isn't always going to be your 'significant other' I mean it could be a friend or sibling or parent or teacher or the person you're dating or WHATEveR," you continue doing odd hand motions to explain.

"it could be just about anyone you've ever interacted with.. that's what i think honestly"

You finally finish your rant and look back at him

his smile wide and cheeks pink

"well?" i ask nervously

"well, i like whatever you have going on," he says observing me, holding on to his bookbag straps "also, question-

"why were you getting undressed in the hallway?" 

PANIC >>>>

"OH! Um, i wasss,-" thinking quickly you made up some random excuse about a stain on your shirt 

"oh um alright, ill see you around then y/n." he says with a suspicious look but still smiling 
"Alright Pete! Cya in soul cass?" "sure thing!"

as soon as he turns the corner i quickly change out of my clothes and into my suit

little did i know though,

he was doing the same thing.

Im now on top of  building, just thinking to myself about what the fuck i just ranted to peter about. 

like HONESTLY?? i had no idea what i was saying, it just HAPPENED.

but thinking back to it, he had a scar oddly close to the gash i had in my arm from my mom

Nah, peter's not my soulmate. i refuse to believe that my soulmate is some rando i met yesterday

or was that today? eh oh well, i've lost track of time too many times already today, i just have to focus on patrolling the city for now.

At that moment i heard an oddly familiar *thwip* from behind me, i looked down at my wrists to see if i accidently shot some web but no?

The Tingle goes off

"Well well! i didn't know there was a costplay convention being held here" I quickly turn to see the one and NOT only Spider-Man

"Honestly tho, you look great in the suit, it fits you! Now lets get you down to safety ma'am, alright?" he says reaching towards my direction

i smirk under my mask "uhuhh, not so fast spidey, why are you so quick believe you're the ONLY one?"

I slowly back away towards the edge, teasing him a little

"Ma'am, please back away from the ledge, i mean no harm okay! I'm the friendly neighborhood spiderman!" 

"No, i know exactly who you are, but do you know me?"

"wha-" I leap from the edge, just to stick on the side of the building trying to see if i can scare him

He quickly runs to the ledge and peaks over seeing me perfectly fine "wh- WHAT??"

"i told you, you're not the only one" i say smugly

Walking back to the top, i approach him and stop right in front of him. "Hi, Im the One and Only, Spider-Girl." I reach my hand out for a handshake and he jumps a little, still taking the handshake though.

"H- How did you get your powers?" He asks 

"Well, I don't know honestly, i know that i was on a field trip, and just as i was sitting in the crowd of classmates i got a random bite on my hand" I grin, even though he cant see it,

"So you're saying you got bit by something you're not even sure of-"

"yes! exactly that"

"What are your abilities?" he asks some more

"Same as yours, Except better! I have camouflage and can use skeletal flexibility. So i'm far more flexible than any human, and have enhanced sight and hearing"

He just stands there, i cant read his facial expressions cuz of the mask, but based on the way he's standing there, he's fascinated

"wow" is all he can manage to say, 

"yeahh" its a bit awkward with the silence so you decide to back away quickly and jump off the building, but not without saying "HAVE A GOOD ONE WEB-BOY!" 

He quickly snaps out of it, "w-WAIT! WILL I SEE YOU AGAIN?" but you're already gone "bye then?" he mutters to himself, wondering how the hell that just happened, and why hadden it happened sooner?
