Life is obviously unpredictable, you knew that. But there were times where it was absolutely unexpected. You had no idea that morning that by the evening you'd be shoving your belongings into duffle bags, fighting through tears.
You lost a lot that day, even though at least one of the things you wanted to lose.
You lost your quirk, and though it had tortured you day in and out something about it gone made you feel empty. It didn't help that you had nothing to show for your pain anymore. The quirk was gone, but the memories remained.
You lost the roof over your head. You had no idea where you'd go to find shelter now that you were being kicked out of the Hassaikai base. There was a certain sting you had about packing up the room you called home for so long. It was reminiscent of the day you had left All for One...and Shigaraki. But this time, you weren't the one choosing to leave.
Chisaki was forcing you out, and you had lost him, too. Though his words were cold, something behind his eyes told you he didn't believe what he was saying. There was no way he genuinely could deny you after the nights you had spent together. But you kept trying to tell yourself it was for the better. Chisaki was dangerous and gave you doubts at so many different points. It had to be good you were distancing yourself, especially if your moral agendas didn't line up.
That brought up the idea of Shigaraki in your mind. You found yourself in love with two men who only had the urge to destroy. It all felt so backwards but you couldn't help who you fell in love with. Ultimately, you knew you had to choose neither, but whether you had the strength to do that or not was unknown.
Chisaki had allowed you to spend one last night at the base, but you figured it'd be best to rip the band-aid off and leave that very night - even with no place to go.
You found yourself dragging your duffle along the nearly empty streets of Tokyo. The city wasn't necessarily unsafe, but considering you were freshly quirkless, navigating around in the dark was astonishingly daunting."Hey," you heard a scratchy but familiar voice call out from the darkness. "What're you doing?"
"Shigaraki," you mumbled and turned around to face him. He stood in a hooded trench coat with none of his hands, conveniently out for a night stroll.
"You have a bag," he looked down at your tight grip on its handles. "What're you doing?"
"I...am looking for a place to sleep," you admitted cautiously.
"Sleep? Why aren't you with the Hassaikai?" He asked while taking a few steps closer to you.
"I've been...decommissioned," you gave a weak smile. Shigaraki gave you a strange look before it came to him.
"You're quirkless," he connected the dots. "He removed your quirk and then got rid of you?!" He increased his pace until he stopped in front of you.
"As soon as he injected me, he turned me away," you tried your best to stay strong as you explained. "I really don't know why...I thought we...had something."
"Pathetic," he hissed under his breath but then fell into a brief moment of silence. "You could come back with me. No expectations to participate, just a roof over your head."
You thought about it for a moment, but agreed with a single nod.
You allowed him to ramble on about what the League had been up to since your last meeting and then some as he lead you back to the base. He mentioned how his previous base was torn to shreds by heroes after he had captured a valuable UA student and how they had been a bit nomadic in regard to finding a new base, never staying too long in one location.
When you did arrive, it looked relatively homey. It was a large, abandoned building with blankets and pillows tossed about in different areas - clearly belonging to whoever was sitting on them. There were even a few old televisions plugged into the wall, sitting on the floor next to what looked to be secondhand gaming consoles.
