•The cars with the siren rushed towards the dry land as Jungkook waited for the other agents to come out. He regretted what he had said earlier, but he still did not turn back.
Was his pride more valuable than losing what he stated he loved?
His guilt and his past words were killing him, and he knew that his words were too harsh for her to hear.
But he still didn't turn back.
Jungkook just thought that he shouldn't have said those things but at some point he felt like as if he should have said it the moment he met her.
Had agent Park Roseanne been honest enough, she wouldn't have switched the dead mafia's phone at the first place.
The thought about Roseanne— handing over the memory card to her country was bothering him. And the thought about not informing his agency was even more shattering him.
"If all the North Koreans are just the same— then Roseanne shouldn't be any different."
At some point, for the past few months— Jeon Jungkook had completely forgotten his hatred towards the North Koreans. They were his very sole reason why he chose to become a spy.
"If she puts her country first, shouldn't I be doing the same?"
He mumbled to himself while kicking the small pebbles that was solidly settled on to the ground.
He was acting unusually unstable.
"How is the news?" Min Yoongi suddenly walked out of the car followed by agent Jung Hoseok and agent Kim Taehyung. They all had a small frown on their faces as soon as they saw the burning cottage.
"Well.. as you can see— it is horrible.." But the oldest out of them all, had noticed a hard tone in agent Jeon Jungkook's voice.
It has been a long time ever since he saw this harsh version of agent Jeon Jungkook. However, now it felt like as if it has returned like a normal seasonal flu.
Yoongi was basically glad before, he was happy for the fact that the cold version of agent Jeon Jungkook was long gone but his ecstasy didn't last long.
The old Jeon Jungkook was back and agent Min Yoongi was literally not a fan of it.
They say that the one who can bring change and create things— have the ability to destroy what it has created.
And in this case, Roseanne might have brought a slight change in him, but it seemed like as if she has completely destroyed it
"Our agents didn't even manage to get the list of the people that are currently present here," Jungkook talked. "They didn't even manage to get the list of the people that have actually gone missing," He added with a frown on his face as his current state was exactly the same as how it was during the time when he first joined the National Intelligence Service.
"And you didn't even bother to do anything about it?" There was an irritated expression flashed onto agent Jung Hoseok's face.
"I have got the agents to work on it, Hyung..."
"Work on it?!" Hoseok questioned in sarcasm as he raised his eyebrows before continuing his words. "Well, how long will it take ...Jungkook?! This is so disgraceful!"
Yoongi had noticed the tension building up amongst the senior agents. As much as he was irritated by Jungkook's words himself, he just couldn't let the situation be even more uglier than before.
"Our kind of work is not your dance.. Hoseok, it will never include your grace even if you sprinkle glitters all over it." Yoongi just ran his hand through his hair as he just walked up towards the direction of where agent Jeon Jungkook was.
