You should hear it from me. You should hear it from me. Those were the words that kept circling through my head. The words from my best friend in the world, who I would do everything for. The words gave me a foreboding feeling.
He had told me through the mindlink that he wanted to talk to me, followed by those words. Then he blocked me, so that I couldn't question his ominous words.
To blow of some steam before he got home, I went to the woods to shift into my wolf and run out some frustration.

"Hey there!" I greeted my best friend happily, while walking up to him to give him a hug.
"He-ello." he almost whispered back, while he squeezed me tightly, which was very unusual. I took a second look and realized he looked both beaten down and nervous for some reason.
"What's wrong?"
"You should hear this from me." he rushed the ominous words. "I'm nonbinary and use they/them pronouns." Then he, no they, broke down.
I held him tight for as long as he, no they, were crying. After they calmed down some, I softly said: "You're my best friend forever."
