Ch 10

CB was confused about Oreos random smartness, but it didn't matter right then. The objective was to get back home no matter what. The father walked out of the store after prepaying for gas. He had his phone to his ear and was walking frustratedly back to the car. The cats fled under the car to avoid contact with him. He opened the car door to open the gas cap. When he turned around to get the pump, the cats jumped in the car before he noticed. They quickly got in the back and found a comfy spot on the floorboard. The father accidentally left the door open so CB managed to hear what the he was saying. "I am terribly sorry, I had to see my boss immediately or I could of been fired." (Mother responding in an angry way, CB could not make what she said) Father replied "I'm sorry, I will just go and get another cat. Please forgive me" (CB could hear a distressed sigh and an ok) Father said, "I will go right now." He hung up the phone and put it in his pocket.
CB: WHAT? HE IS GOING TO REPLACE US!
Oreo: I think he is just getting us a friend.
CB: No he is not, come on we need to show him that we are alive!
CB quickly jumped out the door to expose himself, Oreo followed right behind. CB looked to the front of the car and he could not see the father. Then he looked to the back. The father was not there either. CB told Oreo to follow and CB went under the car to get to the other side. CB looked to the front and back. The father was nowhere to be seen. Then CB heard the driver door slam. CB was startled and quickly went to the other side. It was too late and the father cranked the engine and left. Leaving Oreo and CB shocked.
Oreo: Oh no.
