Chapter 3:

"An astronaut or a pirate"

"That are some interesting choices. Cool outfits too"

.....

"No, wait! A firefighter"

"Yeah, me too"

.....

"Hey, Buck?"

"What buddy?"

"Where did all the water go?"

Buck gets up and looks down the pier.
It's all gone. The water's just gone.
There's a loud siren going off and everybody's staring at the ocean. Buck sees a giant wave coming straight towards them. He grabs Christopher and starts to run. He runs as fast as he can but his leg hurts so bad, he can't move. The wave gets closer and closer and before he knows it Christopher's gone. He can't see him. He's gone. He starts to panic. His breathing gets heavier and his heart starts to race.

"Chris!?! Christopher!?!"

Suddenly everything goes black. He can't see anything. His chest is burning and he can hardly breathe. He can smell the ocean, he can feel the cold water pulling him down. He can hear Christopher cry.

"Christopher? Chris, where are you buddy? I'm coming for you!"

But Christopher doesn't respond. He can't find him. He's gone. Christopher's gone and now he has to tell Eddie.
How the hell is he supposed to tell his best friend, the man he loves, that he lost his son?

Buck buries his face in his hands. Waiting for the water to just take him. Waiting for it to be over. But nothing happens.
He's still breathing. His heart is still pounding in his chest. He feels so cold.
Slowly he opens his eyes and immediately regrets it.

The water is gone. He's no longer on the pier. How did that happen? What's going on here? Where is he? He starts to panic and tries to get up but something pushes him down. Something is holding him back. Something is forcing him to stay there. Something.... or someone?

"Just relax. I'll take care of you Buck. I'm gonna make you feel better"

The voice echoes through his head. This can't be happening. This can't be real. But then he sees the hand that's holding him back. A long, but small hand, with red fingernails. Two rings. One around the middle finger, one around the thumb. A little bracelet around the wrist with a heart shaped charm on it.
He knows this hand. His pulse rises as he slowly looks up until he meets her face.

"It's okay Buck. It's all gonna be okay. Just be quiet. We don't want anyone walking in on us, do we?"

"No. No, I don't want to. Get off of me!"

He tries to push her away but he feels so weak. He can't move his arms, his legs, his head, it all goes numb. He doesn't feel anything but fear. Fear of what's about to happen next.

She lays both her hands on his shoulders and her face gets closer and closer.

"Buck..."

"No! Don't please!"

Her face gets blurry in front of his eyes but he can still feel her presence. Her touch. Her hands on his shoulders.

"Buck?"

"No!! Please!"

"Buck!!"

The voice that's been calling his name is changing. It sounds familiar now.
Yes, he definitely knows that voice. It's warm and soft.

"Buck? Wake up!"

Eddie is leaning over Buck. His hands on the younger man's shoulders, carefully shaking him, trying to wake him up without freaking him out.
