EXTENDED SUMMARY In the terms of East High, Vanessa Capulet (yes, like Romeo and Juliet) and EJ Caswell were on very opposite ends of the spectrum. She was, in short, a nerd — one who got all A's, had a knack for math, and wasn't seen anywhere without a book. Meanwhile, EJ was a jock who also excelled in theater.
It wasn't just that, though — the Capulets and the Caswells hated each other. Vanessa and EJ were taught to hate each other from a very young age. But things suddenly take a turn.
Upon the reveal of East High putting on High School Musical, Vanessa decides to try out because her best friend Andromeda wanted her to. And as soon as she sees EJ audition and vice versa, the two of them slowly began to realize that they weren't as bad as they both thought.
But this story doesn't end in death, no. Instead, the star-crossed lovers actually get a semi-happy ending, one filled with love, light, and lots of singing.
