EXTENDED SUMMARY A week before Will Byers went missing, Vega Solace left the town of Hawkins, Indiana, the only home she'd ever known. It wasn't her choice. Her mom decided to leave Vega's father behind and start a new life in a bigger place. However, that meant that Vega had to break up with her long-term boyfriend, Steve Harrington. The two of them were left heartbroken, and with tears streaming down her face, Vega left the little town behind and didn't look back.
However, after her mother's untimely death, Vega only has one place to go: Hawkins. She returns to the little place she once called home, only to find things were not how she left them. Not only are there strange monsters from a parallel dimension running around, but the one boy that she had truly loved is dating Nancy Wheeler . . . except they're doing all the things they used to do, and Vega gets a serious case of deja vu.
