Diluc sat with you on the Knights of Favonius roof. Everything was quiet. Not even the birds or trees made noise.

“Diluc…” You said.

He turned his head to look at you, and your lips captured his. It caught him off guard, making him freeze.

You pulled away and looked into his eyes with a lustful gaze.

“A-Ah. Uhm.” He stuttered. His brain wasn’t functioning fast enough for him to process what was happening.

You leaned in once again, your lips passionately moving against his. This time, he let his feelings for you overtake his better judgment. Though he knew this was probably wrong for the two of you, he wanted to let loose and give in to his desires for once.

One of his hands slithered around your back and pulled you closer, while his other intertwined with one of yours.

You were both needy for each other, and this was shown in the way you kissed each other.

You pulled apart for only a moment, gasping for air. Diluc let go of your hand and set it on the side of your face, pulling you back in. Your hand found its way onto his chest, making him groan.

His tongue pushed against your lips, asking for permission to enter. Your lips parted, and his tongue started to explore your mouth. You moaned into his lips, which only made him want you more.

Your hand that lay on his chest began to fall slowly, until...

He woke up.

His eyes went wide, and he quickly sat up from his bed. You were nowhere to be found.

Diluc was shocked. He had never experienced such a dream before, let alone one that involved you.

His realization of his feelings for you must have played a part in his dream.

And... it must have played a part in something else he had to deal with now, as well.

.....

This sort of thing continued throughout the winter season. He had these borderline sexual dreams about you almost weekly. They never went too far, though, as he always woke up to the flowers in his throat.

Diluc thought the whole thing was absurd. He’d never had any sort of sexual interest in anyone, and he’d only recently noticed his romantic attraction towards you. It wasn’t something he really saw in his future, nor was it really something he desired at the current moment.

However, despite how many times he repeated that to himself, the dreams still appeared. And it sometimes made for awkward conversations with you.

“Evening, Dee.” You greeted.

He walked up to you, already coughing. “...Good evening.”

You stared at him with a look of slight anger. “You know... it’s almost the spring season, and your coughing has yet to go away. Are you sure you’re alright? I’m starting to worry about you.”

“The cold is just a bit of a bother. Once the temperature starts to rise, I’ll be fine.” Diluc knew that was a lie. However, he wanted to reassure you that he’d be fine.

Even though he was, quite literally, dying.

.....

With your skin pressed against his, he could feel your hot breaths against his neck. His hands traced over every inch of your skin, and you released quiet squeaks and moans at his gentle touch. He was so careful with your body; As if you’d shatter if he was too rough with you.

His mouth pressed against your soft skin, leaving small kisses along your neck and jawline, making you moan more. His faint touches made you needier. Your fingers pulled on his shirt, pulling him ever so slightly closer.

Your neediness only encouraged him to go on. He planted a kiss on your lips, then made his way down to your collarbone, leaving small ghost-like kisses along your body until he reached the fabric of your shirt that covered your chest. Your breathing was heavy underneath him, and his eyes looked up to yours to ask for confirmation.

You gazed back into his eyes and nodded your head slightly. Diluc sat up and placed his hands on the hem of your shirt.

Then he woke up. And you were gone, once again.

He sat up from his bed to look at the clock. It was still the middle of the night.

His head flopped back down to his pillow. He rubbed his eyes with the back of his hands and sighed.

Unfortunately, Diluc knew that he wasn’t going to be able to fall asleep after that dream. It wasn’t the first time he’d woken up so early after one. He didn’t even want to try.

He threw the sheets off of him and rolled off his bed. He quickly changed his clothes and put on his jacket. He grabbed a hair tie off his table and tied his hair up, then made his way out of the house.

.....

Diluc walked the streets of Mondstadt alone. The darkness and silence of the usually loud town were slightly eerie. The only sound was the heels of his boots clicking against the cement.

He wasn't exactly sure of where he was going. He planned on just making a quick round about Mondstadt. When he reached the area around the Knights of Favonius Headquarters, though, he heard a woman’s voice call out to him.

“Master Diluc? Is that you?” It was Lisa. He dreaded talking to people. However, Lisa was somehow worse. The way she always sounded so condescending got on his nerves. He tried to keep his conversations with her to a minimum.

He sighed. “Yes.” He said curtly.

She hummed, “Why are you out so late? I know you usually do your little patrolling thing with Y/N at night, but you’ve already done tonight's rounds, and they’re nowhere to be seen.”

“You’re highly perceptive, Miss Lisa.”

She chuckled into the back of her hand then sighed. “How has your acquaintance been?” She asked.

Diluc’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion, “Pardon? Acquaintance? What are you..?”

“The one from Liyue. With the flowers.”

Shit.

“Oh, right.” He faked a laugh, though it came out nervously, “He’s- he’s fine now, I’m sure.”

Lisa stared into Diluc’s eyes with a look Diluc couldn’t exactly make out.

“There is no acquaintance, is there?” She asked.

Diluc let out a breath. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Diluc... There’s no shame in falling in love with someone, you know. So, who’s the one you’ve fallen for? Hm?”

Diluc hesitated. How was she able to notice small things so easily? “Must I share such private matters?”

“I can play cupid quite well. I got Miss Donna to quit fawning over you; She’s married, now.”

Diluc kept his mouth shut.

“Y/N, right?”

He groaned. “What makes you think it’s them?”

“They’re the only person I have ever seen you talk to willingly.” She explained. “You guys hang out a lot more often than you think. Maybe try to open up a bit more. I’m sure they’d appreciate it. Unless, of course, you’re wanting to suffer a long and painful death.” She walked back into the Knights of Favonius Headquarters without a word more, leaving Diluc speechless.

He stood there in silence for a moment. He looked down at his watch and saw that it was nearing four in the morning. He sighed and started on his way back home.
