"You... want me to come over?" Diluc asked.
"For dinner!" You confirmed.
"No."
You pouted, "Whyyyy?"
It was the middle of the night. You and Diluc had just finished patrolling, and you two were standing near your meetup spot.
He stared down at you with his arms crossed. Why? Because he was worried he would drop dead at any moment.
"Maybe try to open up a bit more. I'm sure they'd appreciate it."
That's what Lisa had said.
Diluc continued to think. You had asked him to come over to your home so you can share a meal together; One that was probably made by your hand.
He sighed and rubbed his forehead, "You know what? Fine. I would love to have dinner with you, Y/N."
You pumped your fists in the air. "Yes, let's fucking GOOOOO!"
"Sh, sh, shhh... someone might hear you yelling." Diluc hushed.
You giggled, "I'm sorry, I'm just excited! I don't think you've ever actually been in my house before, Dee."
Only in those weird dreams.
"I don't believe I've had that pleasure either. I'm sure it'll be... an interesting experience. When do you wish to meet?"
You tapped your chin a few times thoughtfully. "Are you free on... Saturday? You could either come over before patrolling or after. Oh- though, it might be better if you come over before since we usually don't finish until late, and I wouldn't want you to go hungry, Dee."
Diluc nodded his head, "Saturday works. It's... Wednesday, right? Or- Thursday, now, I suppose." He said, looking at his watch.
You hummed a confirmation. "Yup! I guess I'll see you before Saturday, then."
You stretched your arms above your head and yawned. "Archons. Speaking of my house, I need to start going home now. I'm a bit tired as I didn't get a sufficient amount of sleep last night."
"My apologies for keeping you, then. I wish you a good night, and sweet dreams." Diluc bid.
You nodded your head. You were about to make your way home when you stopped.
"Hm?"
You quickly turned around and wrapped your arms around Diluc's neck. "I'm glad you said yes, Dee." Then you pulled away, "I'll make sure to cook up a meal you'll enjoy!"
Diluc watched as you walked away in silence. If there was anything he was expecting from you, it wasn't that. The butterflies that arose in his stomach, however, led to him coughing up more flowers, and with it, blood.
.....
Diluc's dreams had become mild come springtime. Perhaps his mind had been tempting him to try and act before it was too late; Trying to persuade him into revealing his feelings for you, and hopefully getting the same feelings in return.
However, he would not be so easily swayed.
He had no interest in sexual acts — especially with someone who was not his official lover. It was almost as if his brain had noticed this and started to try and entice him with romantic scenes, rather than sexual, to try and lure him in.
That night, he dreamt of him having dinner with you. Your house was warm and bright — unlike his own, which he hardly resided in. Due to dreams mostly being incoherent, he was unable to recognize what food you had made, however, he could tell simply from the smell that whatever you had cooked was made with time and dedication.
