Feels Like Highschool

"12:00AM"

"Fuck. It's actually my fucking birthday...."Katsuki whispered as he stared at the bright white clock with numbers imprinted on it.

This was his first time celebrating his birthday without Eijirou in 15 years. He wasn't sure how to feel...he was sad his husband wasn't here to do his usual birthday routine, like waking Katsuki up at 12AM and start kissing him while singing happy birthday. He also was pretty upset that he wouldn't be getting laid by the end of the night like usual, but he wouldn't admit that part outloud.

Though at the same time he kinda felt a bit relived. He'd actually managed to somehow survive 4 months without Eijirou, he didn't even think he'd make it past a week. He was proud of himself for getting better, sure he had his days but what could he say, it's only been 4 months and while it may seem like a long time since he's last seen his Eijirou, it hasn't been that long—

He was still fresh at grieving, but at least, just at least—he's made a couple steps forward. He knew he wasn't completely healed though, he could still feel it...the long pathway that mentally laid in front of him. He wasn't even half way through his "journey of grief" as his therapist calls it, but at least now he was past the starting line; and for Katsuki, that was more than enough to celebrate.

"At least I still look hot..." He sighed before turning over and throwing a pillow over his head attempting to get some kind of shut eye.

Katsuki couldn't get much sleep after that, it wasn't like he wasn't tired or he was too sad to go to sleep...more so like when you're sleepy as fuck but you got too many thoughts running through your mind for your brain to hit the switch and clock out for a couple of hours.

He was greeted in the morning by his kids running into his room singing or more so screaming happy birthday to him while shoving messy home made cards into his face.

"Hmmm, is this a painted card?! You guys really went all out this year huh?" Katsuki exaggerated to his children as a smile snuck onto his face.

Himari giggled while tossing herself onto the bed.

"Come on get up, get up!!!" She screamed while attempting to roll Katsuki off the bed.

"Why? What's the rush, what the hell did you two do?!" The blond asked while suspiciously eyeing his children.

"We made breakfast!!!" The youngins said in union.

"WHAT?! What have I told you two?! You can't be in the kitchen without an adult and especially not using the oven and crap!" He exclaimed while jumping up expecting the kitchen to already be on fire by now.

"But we did have an adult?" Shohei questioned as he looked at his father in concern.

Whether you're a parent or not, you can imagine the fear that shot through Katsuki's body hearing that sentence—especially when he's supposed to be the only adult in the house currently.

So as instinct he quickly pushed his children aside and ran downstairs—but instead of finding Villians who have shit against him, he found his old high school squad sitting at the dining table in order as Sero had an apron on with a pan in hand.
