After letting Felix stay for a couple of days, a week drawn by, Y/N has come to notice the amount of white fur being piled up in the cabinet of her nightstand. Every morning she awakes she will notice the bright silver fur, lucky for her it has no smell.
Y/N sighs when she noticed the Chinchilla seems unbothered by his mess.
She thinks maybe it was time to confront him about her thoughts.
---
It was another normal day for Felix as he quietly groom himself on the counter he sat on. Rubbing his face and his thick fur, repeatedly, Felix felt a small tug behind him.
"Ahhh!" Felix shrieks at the sight of his fluff. Y/N covers her ear, squinting her eyes at the Chinchilla's loud pitchy scream.
"Felix!" She yells and he tones down quickly. The small creature smiles innocently, and Y/N sighs.
Felix, "Sorry...I just wanted to do that." Y/N rolls her eyes and steps away from the counter, her hand quickly grabs the empty wooden fruit bowl off the counter which the Chinchilla quickly jumps in, adding weight to the bowl.
Y/N glances down to her side where the bowl was and Felix only looks up with the same innocent sparkles in his silver eyes. She sighs in defeat.
Decided that this was the time to tell him.
"For the last time," She began, "I will not help you find your pearl. What if it's already in the hands of a dangerous creature or even worse, a greedy human?"
The chinchilla frown, his ear slump, and Y/N looks at him in pure awe. How can she say no to such an adorable thing like Felix when he's done nothing but good things for her.
He even cleaned her house and tend her garden for her when she was not home. He did all of that for her, with such a small body. How ungrateful can you be, Y/N?
Felix, tugs onto her shirt lightly, with his tiny paws, "Come on, I don't even shed that much. Why not let me stay until we find it?" His eyes sparkle again and Y/N shuts her eyes to hold herself back from agreeing. It seems Felix knows of Y/N's soft spot for him and he was putting that soft spot into good use by taking every chance he can get to persuade her into helping him.
Although Y/N finds it strange for a Chinchilla to be shedding a lot, Felix doesn't seem to find it strange at all. It's like he knows what he's doing, like how much was he supposed to lose.
It's like Felix just know that he was going to gain something in return as long as he continues to let his pearly white coat fall.
Isn't it unhealthy for his kind?
Y/N scoffs, "Don't shed that much? Have you seen the pile of fur I just showed you? I even pluck off a tiny piece of your fur to show you and yet you---"
Felix cuts her off immediately. He crosses his tiny arms.
"When life gives you fluff, you make a scarf!"
Y/N furrows her brows and walks away, Felix remains in the bowl as she steps outside her hut. The Chinchilla pouts, slumping his arms over the bowl, Y/N sets him down on the wooden table.
"Listen, if you don't clean after your fur carefully then I might have to groom you, myself." Y/N organizes her freshly picked herbs, not sparing Felix a look below her. Felix fidgets with his paws and a small idea pops inside his head.
"Oh, I know! How about I---"
"Felix," Y/N's harsh tone catches him off guard and he slumps in defeat again. The small creature turns away from her sight and sat down, sulking.
