"I don't choose you know. I just get to see the next Wild's future. I want a few things from you as Wild. I want you to erase choosing the next king and make it an heir. A family thing ya know? And I want you to take away the rule of having only 1 kid. As the Wild you can do it." he explains, "But that's not what you want. I can sort of see everyone else's future through you but not really. I can tell you that Chadd intends to marry you sooner than you think. A week at the least and a month at the most. They need to give you time to adjust."
"Why, wait, don't answer that." I sigh.
"Because-"
"Because if they can produce the next heir, then The Wild has to move on to the next chosen one. And the Prince can't have kids until he's married and they want me to reproduce as soon as possible." I groan. "Why now? I'm only eighteen."
"You should be happy." The Wild smirks, "They become adults at age 15 in Antergard. They waited for you to age to eighteen, so you'd be an adult. I mean it's 20 for fairies, but they don't know that you're one."
"How long before he's king after we get married?" I ask, wincing at the question.
"A week at least two at the most," he replies. "But you do need to stay there at the palace."
"I know, I need insider information or something." I roll my eyes, "I call not telling Moriana."
The Wild smiles, "Of course not, but she is coming."
"I should go."
"Why?"
"Only one person can be here at a time. I mean that's what Chadd told me," I trail off, "But then again I've only ever come by myself."
"That rule is only in place for the people of Antergard so they don't take the fairies info, but the fairies can be together." he pauses, "We can both talk to Moriana about it."
I purse my lips off to the side, "I don't really want to. Talk to Moriana I mean. I always have questions for you."
He chuckles, "Yeah, you are the highlight of my day. I've been thinking about asking Moriana to bring a phone, so I'm not bored, watching the grass grow. Literally."
I laugh, "I think Chadd will get suspicious if I'm gone too much longer."
The Wild nods, "I understand, come back soon."
I blow kisses, as I tsk to the horse to get her to go. I think about the conversation and how I need to be able to contact Moriana somehow. We have a lot to discuss. I bet I could do some morse code or something and call her.
Chadd is waiting for me back at the castle and he helps me out of the carriage. He looks a little worried and stressed, but he jokes it off.
"You were there for a while, have a good time?" he asks, putting an arm around my waist and leading me toward the garden. Which is officially my favorite part of Antergard.
"Yeah," I pause, lost in thought. What should I tell him? Do I need to tell him something? "The Wild...he's kind of, what's the word I'm looking for."
"Different?" Chadd suggests, glancing over his shoulder.
"Yeah." I glance over my shoulder, "What's wrong?"
Chadd stops and grabs both of my hands in his hands, "I-I don't know how to say this. I'm panicking and my parents can't see because then they would think I'm too weak to be on the throne. And-and." he chokes on a sob. "I don't know what to do."
"Calm down." I tell him, "And explain slowly."
"My parents think the fairies are going to try to take over soon. They have Isaac and can use that against us. If he dies, then our entire world collapses, and I can't become king. They want us to get married as soon as possible."
