The animatronics had been created very differently with modern tech. Things had been going very well and the Pizzaplex was successful. However, something had been happening behind the scenes. The animatronics had started to become more human. While the idea behind them was to make them more sentient, there was a limit. And now, that limit had been crossed and there was no reverting their programming. All of them had picked up different traits of humanity over time.
Chica developed an eating disorder, which was the easiest parallel to human behavior to make. It was strange since the animatronics didn't have any digestive systems. Or anything of the sort for that matter. Their insides were just an endoskeleton and maybe extra storage space. Yet, Chica had been seen digging through trash night after night. The staff couldn't explain it. But it was clear that she loved pizza. She would attack animatronics and people for anything that smelled and/or tasted like pizza (like Sour Lime Fizzy Faz). And since the establishment's main food commodity was pizza, there was no stopping Chica in her new feeding frenzy mode.
Roxy was drawn to a different group of guests. She paid attention to those who were more self-conscious about how they looked. This wasn't quite body image issues, but it was on the verge. Added to this was insecurity. This manifested in the near-constant need for praise and admiration from the crowd. Roxy also gained a new competitive streak that was worse than before. More driver-assist bots were destroyed. She was fine when less capable guests were on her tracks. It was when good racers took the wheel behind a cart that she perceived a threat.
Monty put his muscles to good use. He was a hot head and downloaded the attitudes of more unruly guests. This led to anger issues and more destruction of plenty of Fazbear Entertainment property. His special claws had been meant to help him play the bass. Now he used them to destroy the place more. This led to the gates of many restricted areas below the first floor being smashed through and the place ransacked.
Freddy was the only "normal" one by comparison. Luckily, he took after the fathers who visited the Pizzaplex with their families. The staff was fortunate. Freddy's new personality led to him keeping the others in line, especially Monty, like a father disciplining his children. This helped the staff to an extent. But he was still one of them, after all, and he let some things slide. The staff was still careful but they didn't worry about him as much. Since he didn't cause problems like the others, they gave him more freedom to roam around the Pizzaplex after hours.
