Freddy stood outside the entrance to Bonnie Bow. He never came here anymore. He didn't even remember his last visit to the bowling alley. He missed his friend and it hurt. But he was done running. Freddy was tired of not knowing the truth. With a deep breath and heavy heart (or whatever the animatronic equivalent was) he pushed the doors open and let himself inside. The Mop S.T.A.F.F. Bots paused to wave. Freddy smiled and waved as he made his way to the main counter. This was where Bonnie used to greet guests and check them in. His servos registered sadness once again. Next came regret for not attempting to solve this problem sooner.
Just as Freddy was about to proceed to the concession stands, something caught his optical receptors. There was a single piece of paper sticking out from under the register. He quickly opened the gate and went behind the counter. It was a note. Freddy now had his answers. It had been Monty all along. He had called Bonnie out and challenged him. Monty had always had a bit of a jealous streak. But wanting to take over as the bassist was too much. This was where the line was drawn. He wasn't getting away with this crime.
There was no forgiving this. There was no room for sorrow. There was no time for mourning. Freddy's sadness had turned into rage. He left Bonnie Bowl and made a mad dash for Monty Golf. Luckily, his bandmate was currently undergoing routine maintenance down in Parts and Service. Freddy looked around. He had to find Bonnie, or at least what was left of him if possible. Even if his old friend was beyond repair, he wanted closure. The note was tucked into his chest cavity for safekeeping. And solid evidence. Freddy found a hidden path while searching. It led underground. Taking a huge gamble, he descended. Everyone knew there were many storage arrangements down below. But this was something else entirely. Freddy dimmed the light coming from his eyes.
Freddy finally found what remained of Bonnie. His endoskeleton lay in among many others. The only sign that was his endo were scraps of his uniform, his singular earing, and his favorite guitar pick. Freddy didn't hear footsteps approaching as he stared at what was left of his friend. When he realized he wasn't alone it was too late to escape. He turned and stared. A heavily damaged animatronic rabbit staggered toward him. The badly broken animatronic rabbit opened its mouth. Freddy could see that its voice box wasn't in working condition. However, the animatronic rabbit spoke in a crackling voice. It was Bonnie. He had been alive all this time. Freddy was stunned in silence.
Somehow, Bonnie's consciousness had been transferred to this old animatronic that had been kept to use for spare parts. Bonnie managed to warn Freddy while he still had control over this worn body. Understanding, Freddy quickly left the depths of the Pizzaplex. He found his way back up to Monty Golf and exited before the gator returned. The boss had a lot of luck today. Monty had no idea what was going on. Right now, he was busy enjoying a workout. Freddy passed by his green room on the way to his own. It was time for Bonnie's return.
