"Okay, so this is it. Mount Moon," Lucy stated as both she and Arndolfr stood in front of the entrance of the cave which led to the depths of Mount Moon. "Are you ready to go, Dolph?"
"Uh, yeah, I think," Arndolfr said, thinking twice while checking his bag. "I'm still stocked with healing items, but I forgot to buy a few Escape Ropes."
"Hmm, I'd really like to ask you what you're needing Escape Ropes for, but I'm telling you, you won't need them here," Lucy assured him.
"If you say so," Arndolfr finally replied aster some thinking. "Shall we go, then?"
Lucy just nodded and brought out Sapphira while Arndolfr sent out Geronimo. Both Pokemon seemed to enjoy walking (in Sapphira's case, splashing) around so they decided to let them out for this trip.
Not a minute has passed since they entered the cave when they heard something from deep within the cave.
"Leeeeeaaaaavveee... huuuuuurrrrryyyyyy..."
"Hey Dolph, did you just whisper at me creepily?" Lucy asked irritably.
"Huh? I was about to ask you the same thing," Arndolfr replied. "So it wasn't you?"
Before she can answer, both of them heard it again, this time as if it was getting nearer towards them.
"Leeeeeaaaaavveee... huuuuuurrrrryyyyyy..."
No sooner than they heard the voice the second time, a pair of big, blue eyes began to shine from a distance.
"Y-you don't suppose... there's a P-pokémon that has eyes like that, do you, Lucy?" Arndolfr whimpered as he went behind her.
"Unfortunately, that's not a Pokémon," Lucy replied as the figure of a bespectacled man floated towards them.
"Leeeeeaaaaavveee... huuuuuurrrrryyyyyy..." the man said over and over.
"Y-yes, we'll be on our way now, don't be angry!" Arndolfr yelled and made to turn back, but Lucy held him firmly, preventing him from moving another inch.
"Dolph, look closely, he's not doing it by himself," Lucy cried. "He's being controlled by something!"
Lucy then stared somewhere behind the man floating towards them and then suddenly threw and empty Pokéball towards the darkness. As the Pokéball fell, something within the shadows shifted suddenly, as if flying away from all of them. When this happened, the floating man fell on the ground unconscious.
When the man started to stir as though waking up from a deep sleep, Arndolfr said, "Look, Lucy, he's waking up. And he looks injured, too."
He approached the waking man while the latter started to speak. "H-huh... wha... what happened to me?"
"Oh, um, good question there, sir," Arndolfr replied while starting to rummage his bag. "Hmm, I don't suppose these Potions work on humans, do they, Lucy?" Nevertheless, he still tried them on. Sure enough, they didn't do a thing to make things better for the man.
"I think we'd better take him back to the Pokémon Center because I doubt those will work on him," Lucy replied, summoning back Sapphira. "Manectric, come out and help!"
The Manectric went to Lucy after being summoned. "Manectric, please help us carry this man to the Pokémon Center, please."
Manectric nodded and went towards Arndolfr, but the man said, "Thank you guys for your help, but I can walk. Just... please just assist me on the way out. I don't know if I'll survive the memory of seeing it until we get to the Pokémon Center."
"Seeing what, sir?" Arndolfr asked, but then said, "Um, perhaps you can tell us in the Pokémon Center. You look seriously injured."
It's true. A mark of what looked like a blow from something is visible on the left side of the man's belly. His lab coat also looked tattered at different places. It's as if he's been living inside the cave for quite a while now.
