The Wilds of the Kingdom and the Ice Fire

Chapter six

Tock's P.O.V

"I really miss her, you know?" I said, discussing the subject of my long-lost girlfriend, Cassandra, who lived in the Bahamas, with Droid. "I mean, can you do something about it? Anything? You can simulate her, get a hologram-"

Droid stopped me. "A hologram. That's PERFECT!" he exclaimed.

Droid's voice fades away. I blink open my eyes and stare straight ahead. The sun shines down on my face. I groan and roll over. Suddenly theres no bed underneath me. I yelp and fall on the ground next to my bed. Its not surprising I roll off the bed all the time. I look up to see a plate of sticky buns on my desk. The sticky part was replaced with glistening blood. Yummy!

I pick up one of the bloody buns, taking a large bite I find a note next to the plate.

Good Morning Baby! Hope you slept well last night! I made you your favorite! Bloody Buns! I just want to tell you that i'm gonna be gone all day :( I 'm gonna be at the bottom of the water in the special place. See you tonight! :)

I smile at the sweet note.

I quickly finish cleaning my plate and pull on a blood red t-shirt, and blue jeans. I put on my orange sneakers. I don't feel like dressing up today, I not even going to gel my hair back. I like days like this when I can just dress in what I want and get away with it.

I open the oak wood door of my bedroom and step out into the hallway in search of my twin brother, Tick.

The only problem is that I don't know where he is. I go to the closest door I can find and knock gently. I wait a few moments and then a girl with tinted green skin like my brother opens the door rubbing one of her arms.

"Oh! I so sorry! I'm looking for Tick!" I quickly say, my face turning red from embarrassment.

The girl with jet black hair laughs and says, "You must be Tock! Cass told me about you."

"Oh..." I fluster, "Um, you don't happen to know where Tick is do you?" I scratch the back of my neck, embarrassed as heck.

The girl laughs again, "He's across the the hallway, and call me Midnight."

Midnight closes the door to her bedroom. I stand there for a moment letting my face go back to its original color before I turn and quietly knock on Ticks door.
