Chapter 17

As the night sky became tinted with the colors of the sun, and the birds began to sing their morning songs. And the town still unaware of what has transpired in the night before.

Laid two sleeping bodies embraced in a warm blanket of comfort. Bruno began to shuffle in his sleep as he began to wake up. Still dazed he looked up his bedroom ceiling as if trying to figure out why he is in his room.

And the feeling of weight on his arms fully brought him to the conscious world as he glanced at the person responsible for it.

"It wasn't a dream... You have come to me. " He said as he hugged the sleeping body closer as he could get, fearing that it may be one of his nightmares that plague his thoughts, where he was given the impression of hope only for it to vanish like sand in his hands.

But you were true, not a dream nor a nightmare. But really you, the muse he had been missing for three years.

The seven year old girl he had been forced to leave has now turned in to a 10 year old lady.

As he continued to stare and take in all of you, you had already began to stir. As you open and rub the sleep away in your eyes, Bruno stared lovingly like you were the most beautiful vision he has seen.

"Buenos días, mi niña did you sleep well?" He asked as he stroked a stray hair off your forehead.

Y/n seemed to process still what had happened, stared deeply at his eyes.

But suddenly she jumped and tackled him.

"I have done it!! You're real! Bruno I've missed you so much... And I can't stop thinking about how you're doing alone... And you liar?!" She suddenly screamed as she pushed him back down the bed as she sat beside him.

"You said you have taken care of yourself, look at yourself you looked starved and you don't groom yourself anymore, Julio looks better than you if I'm honest!" She said as she shook Bruno.

"I give! I give... I just- miss you so I can't eat properly, I worry if you're okay" he said guiltily.

"I'll fatten you up just you wait" y/n said as she scurried to where Bruno had laid her bag from last night.

"Yeah I'm sorry... But I'm hurt you find Julio more appealing" he said as he took a glance towards you.

He saw how your ears turned flush as he said so and you ignored him and rummage through the things you had brought there with you.

As she returned to his side, she laid out the left over food she had last night and sat it atop of her lap and started to spoon feed Bruno, to which he gladly accepted, still being in cloud 9.

Y/n fed Bruno as she shyly took small glances at him. And he also doing the same.

"I didn't say I find Julio appealing... It's just that he grooms better seeing your state that is! I mean yeah sure you he cleans better, but you look good! Gah I mean he looks good but you're handsome! I didn't mean that, I mean he's handsome and you're gorgeous, wait! That didn't come out right-" she was stopped by Bruno who kissed the side of her head assuring her that he got the message.

" Don't worry niña, I get it, I'll clean up later and then fatten up as you would put it, El acuerdo? "

He said as he smiled for the first time in three years with genuine thoughts.

" Sì very much" she said as her cheeks flush out of embarrassment of the earlier discussion.

After feeding Bruno she asked if she can have access with the bathroom to change out of her clothes and freshen up.

"Actually Casita made me a personal bathroom in here because I haven't been out of my room well... Well since three years ago, it's that door" he said as he pointed out the door inside his room just right besides his closet.

She nodded and got her stuffs and proceeded to freshen up.

As she was busy at the moment, Bruno decide to clean his room not wanting y/n to catch sneezes that being his room is filthy and dusty.

A few minutes later y/n came out perfectly clean and well washed. "I can take it from here you go freshen up too. And maybe later we can trim your hair, I noticed it being tangled up in the wrong places" she offered as she took the broom of his hand and pushed him inside the baths.

" Call me if you need anything, after all I'm here to look after you" she said as she shyly smiled and got out the door.

She continued to clean some spots and dust in corners and under the bed. Miraculously after she finished everything up, her clothes didn't get dirty and she was proud of it, after all being dubbed the second clumsiest other than Agustin didn't come out of nowhere.

As she looked at the bathroom, she smiled brightly, for after so many years she had finally cane back to the arms of whom gave her happiness.

As walked towards the door and silently closed it not wanting to alert Bruno that she has gone out his room and proceeded to clean there. After a few minutes of cleaning out she decided to visit his vision cave. Upon entering she quickly recognized broken shards of glowing green glasses and some dried up patches of blood.

Her heart sank to her stomach as she sees this.

She kneeled in the middle of the ritual circle and grabbed the sand that was stained with now dried blood.

She stayed silent as she heard the door of the cave open leading a small amount of light to stream in the room.

"You're here I thoug-" " why?" She asked

"What do you mean?" Bruno asked equally curious but when he looked over her shoulder and saw the sand she has in here hand, he immediately knew what she meant.

" I- I have no excuse, I tried to, to end my misery, but Everytime I'm reminded of how you would feel hearing the news that I suddenly left the living" he tried to explain as hard as he could.

" Is this the reason you look so pale and lifeless when I saw you last night!? Why would you do that? If I'm the reason you were suffering then you should have forgotten about me to make it easier!?" She said as she stood and faced him.

" I can't Okay!! you were the only thing that had kept me grounded and sane all these years, the idea of thinking about you saved me a couple hundred times! You were my lifeline!!" He shouted as he let his tears flow, the raw emotions he have been hiding to keep himself intact.

Y/n ran and hugged him as he cried and clung on to her.

"I'm sorry! I shouldn't have said that, I was awful but you were my lifeline too, I had tried to drown once... In the river where we had most of our memories, but thinking of you saved me too." She said as she confessed.

"Y/n, mí Princesa I promise I will never do it again, just promise me to never forget each other, promise me you'll take care of yourself and whatever does happen you'll do everything to find a reason to be happy and keep smiling" he said as he cradled her face and looked her in the eyes.

"Don't say it as if you'll be leaving" she said as she leaned in his hands and let a lone tear escape.

"Promise me y/n"

"I swear upon my heart, that I will never forget" she responded as she nodded.
