Chapter 51

As the students got to spend the day free with their new teachers, y/n had to sadly leave for some time.

"But you just got here to teach us and you're leaving already?!!" A sweet little girl exclaimed as she attached herself on her leg and tried to keep herself from crying which she is obviously failing to accomplish.

Francia shook  her head and smiled leaving y/n to explain her self to little girl while she ushered the rest to get inside for early supper.

Y/n sighed at Francia but looked down at clinging girl on her leg and picked her up. She's no older than five years of age.

"Oh sweet Carmela, do you want to take a walk with me, don't worry I'll carry you in my arms" y/n assured the little girl.

As they approached the small fallen tree she settled the little girl on her lap as she sat herself on the tree.

" So tell me pequeña Carmela why don't you want me to go? I won't be long" she asked the girl.

"That's what they said" Carmela said as she fiddled with her skirt.

"Can you explain it to me? Who's they?" She asked Carmela as she slowly rocked her small body to ease her tensed posture.

"I don't know them, but they said they'll be back and won't be long but they just didn't" Carmela said as she started to tear up.

"Who baby? Who are they that you're talking about?" Y/n asked as she grew curious on who where the people that left this wonderful girl.

"I don't remember them but I knew here in my heart they were supposed to be my parents now they're not, people said they left me because I was a girl" she cried silently on y/N's chest.

Awful...
Absolutely awful.

Who would want to leave their child to think like this. It wasn't her fault being born as she is.

She shushed her and wiped her tear stained cheeks.

"So are you telling me you were orphaned?"

"Why do you ask? Would you leave too if I was?" She trembled as she tried to hold tighter on to y/n's dress

"No no sweetheart, I was just trying to know if someone already had taken you in" she assured the trembling girl.

"No... The school is my home still, but I know my friends won't stay. They have parents that will take them back and love them. But I will stay....here" Carmela said as she hid her face behind her small hands.

"Say... Why don't I take care of you, I might be young and all but I do love children" y/n said as she smiled her most sincerest to the small girl.

"Wahhhhhhh"

"Oh ohh dear why are you crying? Did I say something wrong, please don't cry!" Y/n panicked as Carmela suddenly cried loudly out of nowhere.

"Shush shush baby Los siento, if I said something to hurt you please forgive me–" y/n was cut off when Carmela hugged her neck and kept on saying yes.

" Yes yes yes, I would love to be your daughter, please don't leave me, I know we just met but I really like you" Carmela wailed as she nuzzled on her neck.

Y/n smiled as she patted her back and started to walk back to wards the school. She made a detour and helped Carmela to pack a small bag of clothes and then went to find Señora Esperanza.

" Señora! I would like to adopt Carmela!!" Y/n shouted as she entered the private office of the aged woman.

" Ohh dear heavens you almost made me drop my heart to my foot!– wait what did you say?" Esperanza said as she turned towards the two and grabbed y/N's face.

" Are you really going to adopt Carmela!! That's great news darling" she said as she oats her cheeks and kissed Carmela's dark wavy hair.

" I will allow it since technically you're an adult, although isn't it too early for you since you just turned 18?" Esperanza asked concerned about the two.

" I suppose you are right but I can take care  of her I promise she is a good girl and I want her to experience a family of her own" y/n replied unsure but dedicated to giving the young girl hope in being part of a family.

" Well if you insist I will support you and don't hesitate to asked for help darling, this will be a great change for your self and Carmela be sure to seek guidance don't keep to yourself" Esperanza said as she got the legal papers out.

" Actually Señora, can you keep the papers for now, I would like to take Carmela home and introduce her first to my family and also I would like to surprise her of her knew family if I feel like she won't be too overwhelmed" y/n said

" Very well then you will be officially be fostering this child but when you are ready the papers will be ready for you to legally adopt her as young own" she said.

" Thank you Señora, the night is not far we should be going back to my home, I would be borrowing a horse to lessen the ride back" y/n said

" You don't have to, your papà had lent us Emmanuel and I think her would be happy if he returns home for the time being with you" Esperanza said as she escorted them back to the stables.

As they were seated and safe y/n took the reigns and rode off back home.

" Such a young and vast soul and hearts, I hope you will have great blessings for your determination and great love to others y/n" Esperanza wistfully said as she returned inside informing Francia of what occurred.
