A bright light infected the darkness of Evan's closed eyes. He stirred, feeling a familiar weight pressed on top of him. Yawning, he snuggled further into the plushy comforter.

When he opened his eyes, he saw his room, and Fredbear staring back at him.

Wait...what?

Shooting up from his covers, he rubbed his eyes, yet the scenery didn't change. But that couldn't be right, he was just at Childe and Kaeya's apartment, Kaeya carried him home from Diluc's, he remembered. He could feel the man's icy hands on his back, it wasn't his imagination.

He tried to remember Kaeya's face, but it was already starting to fade away from his memory. Shaking his head, he sprinted out of his room and into the hallway.

"Mr. Kaeya! Mr. Zhongli?" he started to grow even more worried as he ran to the banister to shout over it, "Yanfei? Childe?"

"Jesus, shut up, will you?" Michael croaked, rubbing his eyes as he walked out of his room.

"Mike!" Evan ran up to him, pulling at the hem of his shirt, "What happened? How did we get back?"

"What are you talking about? Can you stop being weird for, like, two seconds?" his brother rolled his eyes, pushing past him to go down the stairs.

"Wh...Michael!" he scolded, "Did you forget that whole talk Lizzie had with you just yesterday?"

Michael froze, venom dripping from his words, "What?"

"The...the talk," Evan repeated, curling into himself the slightest bit, "The one about...leaving..."

His brother stormed back over to him, gripping the collar of his shirt and pulling him up. Evan struggled, flailing his legs to escape, but to no avail.

"Listen, you bloody arse. I don't know if you forgot, but Liz has been dead for six months now."

Evan's eyes widened, but it only seemed to make Michael even angrier. He growled, throwing the boy to the floor, "Shut the fuck up about it!"

He stomped down the stairs, and Evan rubbed his head where it hit the corner of the wall. So, Michael was back to normal, he guessed. But where was Elizabeth? He knew she was alive, he would've remembered something like that.

How did you forget? a voice said to him, and he glanced over his shoulder to see the Fredbear plush staring at him from his room.

He's right. Elizabeth is dead. She has been for quite some time.

"No, she's..." he stammered, his eyes filling with tears, "I saw her! I..."

Don't you remember what Father said? One of the animatronics ate her. That's why you have to stay away.

He let out an unconvincing scoff, "Animatronics don't eat people, that's silly."

Then where is she?

"I'll go find her!" Evan yelled at the stuffed toy, then ran down to his sister's room. He burst in, the door hitting the wall with a loud crash, but he didn't care. He rushed over to Elizabeth's bed and jumped on it, but to his surprise...

No one's there, the plush said, now next to the bed. Evan gulped: how did it follow him?

Open the closet, it insisted, and Evan shook his head.

"No, that's Liz's private items, I'm not going to go in there. She's probably somewhere in town, or—"

Open the closet, it insisted again, and Evan growled.
