Story 1- The Evil Fairy

Part 1- The Meeting Of Fate

Once upon a time, (I know it’s clichéd but it’s a good start for these kinds of things. Not many people can really argue the point- I certainly couldn’t think of anything better.) there was a girl who lived a simple life in the country. Of course, she was a bit quiet and simple lives breed simple minds, but really, she was quite sweet. It’s not like there was anything really wrong with her mind- it’s just that, well, she was a tad slow. Well, maybe if we’re honest, a little more than a tad. Okay. So she was a very slow person, but it didn’t stop her from trying.

And of course, since she was simple, she spent a lot of time in the schoolhouse paging through old books and trying to understand the day’s lesson. There was someone else who did this same thing, and this, of course, is where the story gets interesting. Markus of course, was not slow. Not in the least bit. However, he did want to become a professor when he grew up, which meant that he too spent a large amount of time in the school house.

What neither was smart- or fast- enough to realize was that spending all that time close together would lead to something- something a little bit different than what either had in mind.

Oh, and the girl became smitten with this quick-witted, smart boy who helped her with her work often. And he too fell in love with this slow, sweet girl who spent so much time trying desperately to learn her lessons when so many would have just given up.

However, neither could have known about the creeping, clinging beast that would tear them apart in a heartbeat- in fact literally. But that’s getting a little bit ahead of myself again, but OH! I just love this story so much!

At the same time that their sweet, innocent love was forming, a witch had come into town. No one in town knew that this stranger was a witch, but that was what she was. She had come to this place to find someone that had been seen in a vision- someone with great magic and the strength of spirit to wield it, unlike so many others. Someone who would be able to help the kingdom in a great many ways-but be so wise and great that no one would believe that it was so until much, much later. (I like to honor myself in believing that this book is the first stroke of this movement-the movement to believe in the goodness of many of those who we deem bad without a second though due to some simple adjectives we read as a child.)

The witch entered the schoolhouse in search of this great magic user who would save so many lives. Standing in the doorway, she witnessed the two sharing their first kiss and she left quietly before they realized that she had been there. It was a complication that the Great One was in love, and not only in love, but in love with a person who was not a witch.  However, to kill another’s true love was to earn that person’s wrath and this witch would not risk losing the Great One because she had done something stupid, because even if the Great One’s love wasn’t their true love, what if it was?

It could be bad if the Great One learned of their magic before they were ready, but alternately, they would never be ready as long at their true love was around. What to do? They were at an impasse. But wait. The fairy paused. Had the true love been…sick? They didn’t look sick, but she could feel it. The deep vibrations within them and the vibrations of a healthy human were not the same. So that meant that there was a way to get the Great One to come with her that wouldn’t hurt anyone-well, more than they already would be hurt anyway.

The fairy sighed. She hated having to make others sick. Her major energy work was with healing, and even though pestilence was the other side of healing, it was almost painful to use that kind of anti-power. It was technically possible for her. But that didn’t mean it wouldn’t sting at least a little.

She sighed again and flexed her hands as she carefully began to plot how she would do it....

*This is a side note, so note the star. Star= side note. Anyway. Did you know that the titles in front of fairies name- a.k.a Good, Evil, Ice, Snow, Flame, ect., all are really just acronyms? When a witch ascends to becoming a fairy, each of that fairy’s instructors gives a word to describe them and these words are guided by some sort of greater power or magic because they always end up forming words. An example is this fairy here, at this point in the story. She is the HATE fairy, or the Heartening, Angelic, Tact, and Encouraging fairy. See? So never again believe a fairy’s title based on simply the word in front of it- always wait until the acronym is explained.
