Random moment when Bellamy, Murphy, Amori, Raven, Echo, Monty, and Harper were stuck in space.

Murphy

Passing the bottle of whiskey we found to Monty. We continue to talk about random memories. Be that from the Ark or on the ground, or overall how we managed to survive.
It's been about a year up in space and it's starting to suck. The other day I passed mine and Rae's old cell. And I couldn't stand it, I miss her so damn much.
I then decided that the cell was now where I would go to be alone. Tossing the small worn out ball against the wall.
"Anyone remember Rae?" Harper slurred, causing half of our group to tense. Emori and Echo not so much.
"Yeah she was the bomb, she could hold her liquor well." Raven remarked, looking down at my hands I reached into my pocket. Running my fingers over the ball. Emori noticing and placed her hand on my shoulder.
"Can we please talk about anything else?" Bellamy said quietly, making the entire group turn to him.
"What was she like, Murphy?" Echo asked from her spot against the wall. Knowing she wouldn't receive an answer from Bellamy. Shuddering I squeezed the ball tighter in my pocket.
"She was the sweetest, strongest, kindest person I ever knew." Glancing up I noticed everyone looking at me. "She- she used to tell me." Shutting my eyes, remembering her laugh, her smile, her grin, and her sarcastic comments. "When you are at your lowest, it isn't weak to seek help. It's strong realizing that you can admit it." Reopening my eyes. Echo was still against the wall. Emori lost in thought. Monty was still staring along with Harper. And Raven was crossed legged with the bottle in hand. She took a large gulp.
"When I was training, and Rae hadn't even started yet. She would sneak in and tinker with things. And leave notes giving me suggestions to improve. R-Rae was so smart and kind she wasn't criticizing she was pushing me harder. And when she finally came into the field there was never a dull moment." Chuckling to herself. I let out a small laugh.
"Okay now that this is done can we please move on?" Bellamy repeated, his eyes glazed over reliving his time with Rae.
"It's ok to be sad. I just wanted to know more about her. Everyone mentioned her. She sounded amazing. I just wanted to know more." Echo said, "Even Lexa spoke about her." Much lower that it was hard to catch.
"No worries. You know actually you and Emori would've gotten along with her well." I tell them, both of them staring at me with wide eyes.
"Why do you say that?" Emori said.
"Because Rae respected people who were selfless and knew how to survive. Echo you did what you thought was best for your people. And Emori you survived for so long and we're so selfless. R had given up her freedom to steal medicine for her foster brother. Only for her to get arrested and him to die. And then she sacrificed again, offering her services to Anya in order for the 100 not to be harmed. And then- then she died saving her loved ones." Tears pooling at my eyes, I grabbed the bottle. Taking a couple gulps before something surprising happened.
"You guys would've been friends with Rae because she never gave up on what she believed in." Bellamy lowly said. "She was stubborn, and giving. Motherly, and sisterly. She was funny and serious. She was strong but, vulnerable. And she was the best fucking person. She raised my sister, and she suffered through so much and she still stood tall. Lexa told me that when Rae became a general they wanted to call her 'the sea.' And I never understood it till Octavia explained it to me. She said that her and Rae always wanted to see the ocean. The waves, and the serenity. And she said Rae once told her; 'the sea sounds like a poem. It's tough and can crash you down. Or it can be calm and profound you peace.' Rae was shit crazy smart." All of us staring at him amazed. Like he just said the craziest thing ever, except he said something Rae said. And that's why it'll always be with me. But I didn't think he'd want to speak about her.
"Echo," Monty said. Echo glancing at him, humming in response showing she was listening. "Why do you really want to know about Rae?"
"Yeah why the sudden interest?" Harper defended.
"I told you everyone has mentioned her and I just wanted to know more about Rae the amazing person." Echo exclaimed. Raven eyeing her down. Echo suddenly giving up. "I-I wanted to know why no one ever spoke about her. Well they did but, not really." Emori nodding in agreement. Then I abruptly stand up. Clapping my hands together.
"Well. If your so curious how about we go on a field trip." Starting to walk I noticed everyone following me, curious as to where I was going.
Until I rounded the corner into the cell blocks. Almost everyone stopped, and then continued. Up to the point when I reached a familiar room. Walking inside. Closing my eyes for a brief second.
"It smells like her." Bellamy whispered. Everyone eyeing the room.
"Now Bellamy," I say pointing at him. "When we went to save Jasper, do you remember what Rae said after seeing the Jaguar?" I question.
"Yes, she said 'look Smurf it's you.' And I remember being confused as hell." Smiling softly I point to the right mattress.
"On that mattress the morning before we were brought to the drop-ship, and Rae and I were throwing around the ball. She asked me if I were to be an animal what would I be. I told her a jaguar because they seemed badass." After mentioning the ball, Bellamy had realization cross his face. Before anyone could speak. Pointing to the corner on the left hand side. "In that corner is where Rae and I became friends. She was having a panic attack, and I helped calm her down." Getting lost in my thoughts I didn't really see all the sympathetic looks I was receiving. "Well on with the tour."
Leading them out of the room, we walked to the Mess Hall. And I was watching a specific table.
"Right by this table was when I knew Rae was my best friend. Some dude was catcalling her and asking if she wanted a different type of food. At first she ignored it not wanting to lead with violence. But then, he started up about you." I pointed to Harper. "She didn't know you but he was telling her that if she didn't go he would drag Harper there. Rae not knowing what to do stood up went right up in his face and said to him; 'if you don't sit your ass on that chair I'll remove your spleen with a bitter knife and then shove it down your throat.' And then she walked away and plopped down. When a ball rolled across the floor." I lifted the ball out of my pocket. Every single eye on it. "And she picked it up threw it straight to the back of his head. And when it bounced right back at her she caught it, stuffed it in her pocket and pretended nothing happened." A huge smile on my face. Harper grinning slightly, Raven looked proud, Emori and Echo with calm faces. And Bellamy had a slight smirk on his face.
Walking down more halls, reaching out destination.
A janitors closet.
Bellamy was stunned and I opened the door.
"Now in here is where Rae told me she left a note to her ex boyfriend. She said 'I left it for him but now that I'm stuck in a cell I don't know if he ever got it.' So I promised her I'd make sure he got it. So she told me where she hid it." I walked in pushed away a cupboard and sure enough, a small note was on the back. Gently peeling it off I gave the small paper to Bellamy. Patting his shoulder I grabbed Ravens hand. She looked at me confused before I started walking towards Mecha. We're Raven shared strokes of their inventions and antics. Bellamy had put the note in his Jean pocket to read later.
"And to finish this tour, I think we shall head to the place where Rae would talk to me about all the time." I tell them.
"What did she say all the time?" Harper asked genuinely curious.
"She talked about how she heard these two geniuses from her old class were able to sneak weed. And she always said she wished she could be friends with them because they sound like goofballs. So Monty Green, I have no idea where the weed place is so you gotta take over the tour." He chuckled, shaking his head.
That day was one of the days where it didn't hurt so much to speak about her. He only wished he had more time.
