Sorry it took so long to update, istg I had it almost completely written and then I lost all motivation to continue. But I finished!
Please stay safe and I hope you enjoy!
"So what are you guys now?"
"Yeah, are you dating or what?"
Izzie and George have been pestering me about Addison for days. I haven't seen her since our date, but we texted whenever we go the chance to.
"I don't know yet," I sigh.
"How can you not know?" Izzie asked.
"Because it was my first date with her. That doesn't mean I can slap a label on it. Maybe she doesn't want to date me, maybe she sees me as..."
"Her fuck-buddy?" Cristina chimes in.
"Her friend?" Izzie asks
"I don't know. Why should I have to tell you guys what happens anyways."
"So we can ask her what her intentions are with you."
"I thought that was a sibling's job," I say.
"Have you seen your sister?? She wouldn't confront someone who got her order wrong at a restaurant," Cristina deadpans.
"Who says I'll let you meet Addison?"
"I already did," Cristina says nonchalantly.
"What?!"
"She came to the bar last night and we talked for a little while."
"What did you tell her??"
Cristina shrugs.
"Tell me, goddamnit."
"Okay, geez. She just asked where you were, and I told her you weren't working. I said you'd work tomorrow at ten though. And then she ordered some drinks and went over to her friends. It's not a big deal."
I sigh in relief.
"Why are you so freaked out about this anyway?"
"Because I know you," I say. "I'm lucky you didn't tell her anything else."
"Like the time you lost your panties at your high school prom? Oh yeah, I told her about that one."
"Cristina!" She giggles to herself.
"It's fine, she thought it was hilarious."
"I'll slit your throat and make it look like an accident."
"Then what would you do without me?" I knew she was right. I start to laugh softly at the memory.
"She's gonna think I'm a whore."
"You are a whore." I giggle and she smiles at me.
~
I was beyond excited to see Addison again. I always looked forward to seeing her while I worked; something about catching her eye from across the room as she watched me serve drinks was euphoric in a way I can't explain.
Tonight I would be working with Cristina, which was always an interesting prospect. I would have worried that Addison and Cristina would talk more, specifically about the embarrassing story she told last night, and others that came to mind, but I didn't plan on sharing her tonight, even for just a bit of small talk between them.
Almost exactly when I started my shift, she was there. She ordered a wine from Cristina and smiled, waving me over.
"What's a pretty thing like you doing here?" I tease.
