TRUE LOVE (KRPKAB, Devakshi S3 Re imagined)

PART-2- SO CLOSE YET SO APART

Natasha soon remembered that Dev and Sonakshi had their marriage anniversary this month, she enthusiastically asked about the celebrations. But her spirits dampened as soon as dev replied that they didn't really celebrate much due to kids exam and work pressure in their respective offices. Anyways there relationship had come a lot far from the so called first dates which hardly mattered anymore. Sona too nodded at this. Soon Natasha and Vishal moved on to other guests at the party. Dev and Sona were busy in their responsibilities of home and office which had now gradually started taking toll on their happiness as well as relationship.

The game of dumb charades began with a twist for the couple's where one partner had to enact while the other had to guess. In no time it was devakshi's turn, Sona went shyly and took up a chit. A beautiful old memory crossed her mind as she read the title. She enacted a simple pose of the two hands stretched apart. But even after numerous attempts Mr. Tubelight Dixit couldn't guess the film. After the time up Sona declared that the movie was Titanic which was once there favorite. Dev who couldn't come up with any better excuse as to why he couldn't guess the film said that it was such a long time back she could have done something different though mentally cursing himself on his stupidity as to how he couldn't guess it and kept beating around the bush thinking it as a Shahrukh pose. He made a mental note thinking such a DUMB person he can be at times. Dumb this word too had an interesting Devakshi incident behind it. Memories ha In the course of their marriage there has been infinite such moments that it was quite impossible to remember each especially nowadays when they hardly have any time to reminisce about those days. Thought Dev silently.

Natasha later initiated a conversation with Sona at the buffet table about how the things were earlier where was the sizzling chemistry and how they couldn't stay apart even for a moment to how they are currently and why there chemistry has turned into history. Natasha's words set Sona thinking.

Sona answered how everything changes forms with time and so has there love, it has matured over the years they have spent together they have grown so comfortable with each other that even this comfort zone has become too comfortable with them. Life and it's struggles have taught them that love is not just about the lovey dovey phase but something greater the inner care and admiration which need not be always expressed. And anyways they are not the same young couple they were when they last met but parents to two school going kids and with all this there responsibilities too have grown manifolds. Besides the dumb charades thing wasn't really very important.

Natasha agreed slightly but also said that one could never tell how small things start affecting us so much even titanic sank for a little iceberg. Natasha's words prompted sona to think what has changed now which wasn't earlier.

Soon they left the party and were driving to their offices. Dev was busy on the Bluetooth for his new real estate project as he had to prove his mettle once again in the biz world that just a break didn't change anything for the business tycoon. Sona was busy thinking about Natasha's words and the tiresome day that awaited her.

Suddenly when a car rushed in full haste beside there's. Dev was left shocked how irresponsible people can be on the road or maybe how less they cared for their loved ones. He immediately turned towards Sona, She was fine thanks to the seatbelt equally shocked as him towards the weird action of the driver of the other car. They continued the rest of their journey in silence and reached there respective offices.

At night

Ishwari was putting her grandchildren to sleep, she remembered how dev too had a habit of sleeping while holding her hand. Dev who was just back from work was at the doorstep of the kids room and fondly smiled at his mother and her care towards her grandchildren. Ishwari asked Dev about Sona and told that no wonder how much she does for them kids always need their mother. Dev replied that Sona would come late today as she was too occupied today and she had already gone to the office at half time, he also knew that his answer wasn't going to pacify her much as for Ishwari being a working mother had been so much tough and a threat posed in her mind that what if her grandchildren felt neglected by their mother just like Neha did. At times it is quite unreasonable to argue with mother's and their worries he thought to himself but at times necessary too. He was well aware of the different parenting patterns of his mother and his kids mother but thought to let them be themselves in front of the kids.

Next morning

Sona brought two cup coffee for herself and dev to make up for last night she had been really very late to come home as today she was going to stay at home make Soha finish her project, take Shubh out and Vicky Elina were also going to come over for lunch. Dev too had planned a light day ahead to come back at half time. Dev told Sona that a week ago he has stopped drinking coffee, Sona was surprised at his this decision as on days she has seen him drink 5 cups of coffee as well. She asked him how come she didn't get to know about it for a week to which he replied cheekily that just the same manner as he didn't knew about she turning vegan. Sona too remembered this incident very well and turned a shade of red recalling  the last day of her short-lived vegan diet when dev discovered Sona's new dietary preference on the dinner table and predicted the very next moment how this diet of hers wasn't going to go on for very long. And true to his words the very next morning she was back on her usual diet and by the end of the day had consumed all her favorites ignoring her nutrionist conscience.

They both passed a smile on this not so old incident.

Dev soon noticed the news about an accident on the ring road during the lunch ours when they too had crossed the very same road. Sona noticed the car and recognized as the one which overtook them speedily they discussed how unpredictable life is how no one knows what the day brings for them.

At the breakfast table the usual silent war of the different interpretations of healthy foods was seen from both the mother's side very soon dev realized it was best to escape the situation and the stares and went to office siting urgent work.
