[Chapter 9] ~ Teamwork

"We can't make it, iceland's bigger, stronger, faster." Averman started "They got more facial hair." River added teasingly "yeah! She's right" "when am I not?" she says furrowing her eyebrow together slightly as a smile creeps us on Avermans face.

"Banks, you're on" Coach said looking at adam giving him a nod. "Hey, be careful out there" River comments with a smile, lightly hitting his arm. He gives her a small nod skating on the ice.

Right as he got the puck some icland guy hit the same spot on his wrist, Adam skated back to the bench. "Sit down. Sit down. Hey, Ref, why don't you
call something? He almost took his arm off!"

"That'll be two minutes." The ref commented "Two minutes well worth it." "Get in the box, you big goon."

"i'm okay." Adam reassured. "You sure?" Coach asked double checking while River took Adam's helmet off "Yeah. i'm fine. They just hit the pad. Really." "You'll be okay, Banks." "Way to hang in there, Adam." "Yeah, Great playing." The team kept comforting him, feeling a bit of pity.

"Now the crowd doing the wave, trying to get Team U.S.A. back in this game. It may be working.
Team U.S.A. up to center ice. Moreau to the blue line of Iceland. Drops it back to Mendoza. Ducks under a check. Robertson with it now for Team U.S.A. He's got great moves with the puck. Robertson still with it. Portman calling for it in front of the net. Robertson knocked down from behind. Iceland will take over."
- "Somebody get on him."
- "Get him, Luis!"
"Here's Luis Mendoza in a footrace trying to catch Amselik. Amselik on a breakaway.He could make it three-nothing.Mendoza trying frantically to catch him. Amselik moving in on Goldberg. Gets hit from behind. Taking the puck-Amselik, Mendoza and the puck all in the net. It's a goal. And Iceland leads now 3-1."

"Show me the Flying V!" "Let's go! Let's go!" The guys on the ice yelled trying to communicate getting prepared for the Flying V. "Iceland is really taking it to Team U.S.A. They are completely dominating this game. As we start the second period, you wonder how is Team U.S.A. going to get back in this. Gunnar Stahl to Sanderson. Sanderson having the puck he skates across the ice as coach Bombay does a line change!"

River now out on the ice she skates over to Sanderson quickly checking him into the boards taking the puck away in a swift motion allowing her to get to Icelands side of the ice without being pushed or rammed into by the opposing team.

"Evans makes it to center ice crossing the blue line, she's blocking Icelands attempts at stealing the puck she goes behind the net, pulling a wraparound...oh? She out from behind the net, what happened to the puck? Germain comes out from the opposite side with the puck in his grasp! They pulled a sneaky play with their sticks while behind the net, swapping positions"

Guy skates straight towards the offensive zone a bit worried about the Icelanders as three of them were approaching him skating quite aggressively. Dean was in charge of pushing the Icelanders off while Charlie had to be on the look out for any sly moves that will possibly come from Iceland.

River was responsible for playing attention to Guy because first, he was about to pass the puck over to her but he was also fixing to pull a very risky move.

Guy shoots as hard as he can at the goal, more specifically the stanch, or the upper right corner of the goal post. This allowed a bottle rocket to happen. The Iceland's goalies water bottle shoots up and startles the players, other than Guy, River, and Dean.

Dean made sure the Icelanders were still caught off guard as the puck flew back and landed in the position of the left wing. River picked up the puck and handled it beautifully, keep in mind all of this had to happen in a matter of seconds. Iceland still trying to snap out of the events that recently occurred "River Evans shoots! And scores! Making the score 3-2"
