You're sitting in the Great Hall, surrounded by students from different schools, Beauxbatons and Durmstrang. You sit by Hermione with fingers crossed hoping that this nightmare you've been fighting with Cedric about doesn't come true.

Of course, if Cedric would have listened to you there wouldn't even be a possibility of that happening. You've been fighting with Cedric over putting his name in the Goblet of Fire weeks before it even happened, and every time there was the same answer, "I'll be fine Y/n! I promise." But will he?

You know of the dangers of the tournament and you're scared to death that he'll be chosen. You watch as Dumbledore says his speech and it begins. Viktor Krum from Durmstrang, Fluer Delacour from Beauxbatons, and.. You watch as the flame appears and out pops the paper.

"From Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry... Cedric Diggory!" Dumbledore speaks. At those words, it feels like your legs are going to collapse in your seat. You have to get out of there, you couldn't let everyone see you burst into tears.

Getting up from your seat you start to move, speed walking and trying not to cause much attention to yourself. You reach the door and turn back once, Cedric is getting cheered on by his friends, of course, his face is plastered with a smile but when he locks eyes with you it fades away.

Suddenly his expression becomes more serious as he sees the tears start to escape your eyes. When you realize for yourself that the hot drops of tears are flowing down you start to run.

You run to your room as fast as possible, not caring if there was anyone to stare. You slam the door shut and sink to the floor, tucking your knees to your chest as you sob into them. You can't erase it from your head, the thought of Cedric getting severely hurt, or worse. How could someone possibly want to be part of this?

The Hufflepuff boy you've known for what feels like an eternity can slip away so easily. The tears flow like a river out of your eyes causing you to shut them. You jump at the sound of a knock at your door and try to stay as silent as possible not wanting anyone to hear you or to want to come in.

"Y/n, it's me... Could I come in please?" You hear Cedric's voice from outside the door. You don't respond, but instead shuffle away from the door.

He takes that as a 'yes' and enters your room, closing the door silently behind him. He frowns at the sight of you, a crying mess.

"Hey, hey hey! Don't cry, darling." He states calmly sinking to the ground next to you. You give him a slight glare over the top of your knees. "Come on Y/n, don't be like this! I'll-"

"You'll be alright?! I get it, Cedric! You don't need to keep repeating yourself." you yell, your voice slightly sniffy. "I know I repeat myself, but that's because you don't believe me!" He says, not raising his voice but talking sternly.

"Really! How can I believe that you'll be fine when you're entering a deadly competition! Maybe I just care about you! Ever think of that Cedric?" You return. His mouth hangs open as he now realizes your just trying to keep him safe.

"If anything, anything happened to you, I don't know what I would do! I can't lose you Ced! I just freaking can't!" you yell while more tears roll down your cheeks leaving them more tear-stained. He acts impulsively and kisses you, coming closer to you and resting his hand on your cheek.

When he breaks the kiss he looks into your eyes, "I don't know why I did that, and I don't know why I did this just now, but I promise, I promise you Y/n, I'll be fine.. I'll be okay."
