Mattheo Riddle - Insecurities.

You walk down the halls next to Mattheo, not really paying attention to anything as you're tired and just want to get back to your dorm, you're just focusing on the sound of your footsteps. 

Suddenly you don't hear Theo's steps anymore, so you turn around. You see Mattheo talking to some guy that you don't recognize, making you curious. You approach the two and overhear, 

"Hey, I didn't know she was your's dude. I just saw a cute girl walk by and said hey!" You hear the boy say. "So you think it's okay to catcall random women?" Mattheo asks casually, his face unfazed. You lean against the nearby wall, it's okay to eavesdrop if it's about you, right? Plus, Theo was supposed to be walking with you. 

"What, no-"

"You wouldn't want her anyway, she has this thing," Mattheo interrupts. And as he talks badly about your insecurity in the next words you feel your heart crush. You never thought Mattheo would ever just spill your insecurity and then poke fun at it too, it was heartbreaking.

You feel your eyes fill with tears from the hurt. So, you push off the wall aggressively and swiftly walk to your common room. 

Even if you thought Mattheo didn't see you, he did. He was aware of your presence from the start. So after he was done telling the guy off and looked over to see you were gone, he knew something was up. After all, why would you just leave randomly? 

He goes to your common room and enters. 

It was quite late so you decided to just sit on the couch which was soon a mistake when you heard someone enter and immediately knew it was him. "Y/n? Something wrong?" you hear Theo's voice. 

You quickly wipe the warm tears from your cheeks, but you don't respond to him. Theo soon enters your vision and looks down at you taking in your red eyes. "Y/n? What's the matter, love?" he squats in front of you and goes to wipe a falling tear. 

You swat his hands away and look at him with annoyance, "Don't touch me." 

Mattheo takes his hand away and raises a brow before sighing and sitting down next to you, "What did I do now?" 

At his words, you spring up, "Maybe the fact that you just made fun of my insecurities with no guilt? Who does that?!" you yell at him. He flinches slightly and guilt starts to wash over him as he recalls what he said. "I wasn't thinking! You don't understand, y/n, he was trying to take you from me!" He raises his voice slightly.

 You scoff and walk up the steps, "No, Theo! When will you understand that no one is going to take me from you! There's no excuse to bully me about things that I open up to you about!" Theo looks at you from the bottom of the steps with pure guilt flashing through his eyes, "I'm sorry! I just never want to let you go! What if he thought you were perfect?" 

"If you're that insecure Theo, then you need to get help!" you yell and walk to your dorm but Theo follows right behind you, "Wait, y/n!" 

You step inside your room and then look Mattheo in the eyes, "Just- work on yourself." you say and shut the door in his face leaving you with a lot of pain and Theo with a lot of thoughts.
