When we arrived at the police station, they allowed us to call someone to pay our bail, otherwise, we'd be faced with 6 months in federal prison. Why, I wasn't quite sure.

As Nick dialed Clay's number, it began settling into my stomach how bad this might be. I reverted to an old bad habit of biting my nails, which I wouldn't have minded much to if it weren't for the fresh set I had gotten mere days ago. As the phone continued ringing, Nick took one small glance at me and reached to tear my hand away from my teeth. "No." He whispered firmly. I pouted, but settled on bouncing my leg instead as a coping method. Evidently, he preferred this as a very faint smirk was caught on his lips during the entire call for help to his roommate.

Once he hung up, an officer came to greet us. "The consensus?" This man obviously loved his job and understood that we were just trying to have some fun.

"He is roughly 3 hours down the coast, does this facility provide food?" Nick spoke professionally, as if this wasn't his first time being arrested.

The police officer nodded, and gestured for us to follow him. As we reached the hallway, it because apparent how quiet we were. "Excuse me sir?" I called. Nick jumped slightly, as if I was addressing him, but the officer turned towards us and raised an eyebrow, "will this be on our permanent records?" I asked.

"Not publicly, you're fans will never know." Me and Nick both stopped dead in our tracks.

"How do you know that...?" Nick asked cautiously.

The officer also stopped, "My daughter watches both of you." I could tell that made Nick's heart rate slow down a bit, but not even close for me.

We kept walking until we made it to the cell they'd be holding us in. "Hey man, do you mind keeping this a secret? From your daughter. Can't have nobody knowing I'm up here." The officer nodded and closed the cell door, leaving us to our own devices.

--

The clock hanging high on the wall just outside our temporary cell moved painfully slow, each passing minute felt like 30.

"God, I'm going to go insane before we make it out often his damn cell. For the love of sweet baby Jesus, Clay, just break the law!" He muttered.

"Woah, man. Calm down... " I placed my hand on his back and began massaging his shoulder with my palms.

"Fuck..." He let out the probably millionth exasperated sigh of the night, and turned his head towards me, flashing a quick look at his crotch area.

I instinctively followed his eyes, noticing a small bulge where his zipper lied. "Nick, for fucks sake." I smiled and sighed lightheartedly.

He put his head down and closed his eyes, drawing another sharp breath. "I'm so sorry, I don't know why it's like this."

"Nick, I deal with dicks every week, calm down. " his face flushed red.

"If it's not too... Weird. Can I just-" he carefully lifted his arm around my shoulder and pulled me closer to his chest. "This ok?"

I nodded and took a strand of my hair to twirl between my fingers.

--

I very well could have passed out, because when my memory fuzzed back into focus Nick still had his arm tightly around me, but he was now whisper yelling at a tall, dirty blonde man in the doorway. "This is silly." The man said in a familiar voice. He had a phone our and was taking a video of us while we were still being the bars.

"What the..." I went to rub my eyes but, after realising I was wearing a full face of makeup, I went for my temples instead. Once I was fully focused, the same officer came into the room and unlocked out cell in one swift motion, then walked out with a surprising purpose.

"Hey, I'm Clay. You probably know me as Dream though." He smiled, making his vampire tooth visible.

"Hi." I muttered out, trying to not sound too hostile.

Nick stood and offered me a hand. I took it, still half-asleep, and followed him through the same police station, out to the parking lot, and to a very nice Tesla. Of course.

As I sat in that car, driving down the dark 3am streets of Miami, with the sleep and alcoholic buzz still deep in my mind, I laid myself down. On who, I can't remember. I don't remember much from that night.

The only thing I remember is waking up on the same person, with light streaming through my curtains as per usual.

I rubbed my eyes and sat up, seeing a very peaceful Nick sleeping below me. Quietly, I crept into the hallway and into the living room only to see a very tall, seemingly homeless, man unconscious on my couch.

I sped back to Nick, grasping his shoulders tightly and shaking him awake. "Why the fuck is there a homeless guy dead on my couch?"

"Wh-what-" He rubbed his eyes and looked up at me, "Do you mean... Dream? The guy who saved our asses last night?"

"Uh, wait." I dropped my death grip on his shoulders and crept back to the living room just to see the same man sitting up, looking incredibly tired. "Goodmorning... thanks for bailing us out last night, can I make you anything?"

He looked up at me lazily and flopped back down, mumbling some incoherent buzz words.

I sighed and started up breakfast for us
