I was so nervous to go to school. I was afraid of facing Milla and Hayes. I was scared I was going to spill and just ruin their relationship. I stopped thinking about it and hopped into the shower and washed my hair and body.
I got out and put my hair in a Dutch side braid. I went back into my closet and put on my outfit (pic at top). I put on some jewelry and my green vans.
I went downstairs and grabbed a banana before going out to school. As I arrived at the school, I slowed my pace. I was trying not to see Milla but I knew I had to sometime. I made my way toward the "squad." I saw Milla and smiled a fake smile.
"Hey. What's wrong, Audrey? Tell me." She asked. I looked at Hayes and he looked down at his shoes. I rolled my eyes. "Nothing. Sorry just didn't... Have enough sleep." I falsely said. Milla smiled. "Shall we go in so we won't be late to class?" She asked and we all nodded.
I followed her in and we got to our lockers and got what we needed for our first class. I hugged her and made my way to science. Matt was already there because his locker was right next to the class.
I sat down beside him and smiled. He smiled back and gave me a side hug which I returned. When class started, I couldn't pay attention because my mind was on Hayes trying to kiss me.
Is he just another one of those jock douches? Did I make a mistake by introducing him to Milla? Oh my god. What if she finds out? And not by me? I need to tell her.
When the bell rang I ran out of the classroom and towards Milla's locker. She was there thankfully. "Milla I need to tell you something. It's bad news, but I know you will thank me later." I rushed. She nodded for me to go on. I took a deep breath and started the story.
"Okay so yesterday Hayes asked me to help him with some school work and so we went to the library. I was tutoring him when he tried to kiss me. Luckily, I stopped him because I know you like him and I don't like him like that, and I have my eye on someone myself. So yeah. Milla I'm so sorry."
She just stood there. Motionless. she didn't say anything and neither did I. I just wrapped her in a hug that she returned after a couple minutes. She dug her face into my neck.
"I thought he liked me. I really did." She confessed. "Shhh hey it's okay. He's a douche anyway." I smiled pulling back from the hug. She smiled and giggled a little.
I felt someone brush against me as I saw Matt zoom past us. "Oh god." Milla muttered. "What's wrong?" I asked. She gave me a duh look and I returned to her a look of confusion. "He obviously likes you, and he overheard us that MY crush tried to kiss YOU aka his crush." She said in duh tone. I stood there thinking through things. Oh. My. God. She's right.
I ran after him knowing he will pick a fight with Hayes. Oh god. It had already started. Matt punched Hayes in the jaw. Hayes came back with an uppercut to to Matt's chin. "You tried to kiss MY girl?!" Matt yelled as he punched Hayes in the stomach. "She isn't YOUR girl! You aren't even dating!" Hayes said punching Matt in the forehead. "But you knew I like her!" Matt said tackling Hayes and repeatedly punching him in the face.
I came in the middle and pried Matt off of Hayes. "Matt stop! It's not worth it!" I told him trying to calm him down. He calmed down and looked at me. I examined his face. He had a big bruise on his forehead and chin and a cut lip.
I gasped when I saw his injured face. I hugged him and squeezed him tight. He hugged back and we stayed like that for a while. "I'm so sorry." He said.
