Footsteps crunched against the ground as they looked out from a cliff, spotting the desolate land that once prospered with the growth of civilization.

A pair of mountain lions had slowly made their way to her, causing her to take off her hood as they approached. She glanced at them as they rubbed against her leg. Their eyes sullen and sunken in from their desperate fight to survive.

The fat they stored had long vanished, leaving them with nothing more than the skeletons that held them up. She brought her hand out, stroking the two calmly.

"Though you have survived, your home hasn't." She said softly as they nudged against her hand as she sighed.

"It seems the scenery is the same no matter where I go. Depressing and dull." The female commented, looking back at the wasteland as her long white hair fluttered around her in the wind.

She flicked her wrist, causing gold particles of light to spread across the barren land, cultivating fertile and well nourished land.

She glanced down, feeling something wet and harsh run across her golden marked hand. There, she spotted the two mountain lions showing their appreciation in the form of licks as their eyes lit up with hope.

She gave them one last stroke as they remained content with her prescence.

"It never gets old no matter how many times I see it." A voice said in awe, looking around with an open mouth as a low hum was heard in agreement watching the interaction with the malnourished lions and the woman. Each holding admiration for the woman that vowed to restore every inch of the land and help humanity once again flourish like her ancestors did.

"Come. Let's see if they managed to find any civilization." A stern voice said, causing the mountain lions to jolt before running away from the woman.

The woman looked back up at the hooded person before nodding. She pulled the hood back over her head as she walked towards them.

"It seems it's not just humans your personality scares off." The female commented, causing the man to glare at the woman.

"Watch it, imp. I'm sure your body will be more than enough fertilizer for the land." The man threatened, causing the female to smirk.

"Oh, but then this whole journey would've been nothing but a waste of your time, no?" The female pointed out teasingly, causing the man to scoff.

"Wouldn't you just love to think that." He commented, clicking his tongue.

Brown eyes watched the two tease each other playfully through her spectacles with a knowing grin on her face. To her, it was more than just entertaining...it was endearing to observe the two as they openly grew closer with each lingering gaze, each comment, each half-hearted retort, each sarcastic remark.

It was clear that a tight-knit bond had formed between the two that would never be broken, and yet it still had remained unspoken...or at least to her knowledge. But how she wished that it would soon be revealed. It was becoming common knowledge to everyone but her two stubborn and sarcastic shorties.

"As much as I love watching you shorties flirt with each other, we should probably get moving before nightfall." A voice commented only for the two to look opposite directions and away from her.

A laugh sounded from the bemused woman, causing her to be the recipient of glares by the two.

"S-Shut up." The man stammered out.

"A-Again with this?" The woman questioned with a slight pause and a stammer, causing the spectacle brunette to chuckle and smile before allowing the flustered pair to regain their composure by changing the topic.
