Fear and dread ran through Finsley's mind as she saw what she saw. She didn't know how to react, so she froze in place as Ewan and Clyde continue their conversation.
Her hands were shaking more than they did before, her vision became slightly blurry and she felt lightheaded, but thankfully, Finsley held it together.
She immediately pulled back down her dress and covered herself with her beige cardigan over her shaking figure.
_________________________After a few seconds, Ewan could feel something shaking on his back, so he turned around only to be met with a shaking Finsley who was gripping her shoulders in a cold manner.
"Woah- Finsley are you alright?" Ewan asked with a concerned tone.
"I-I'm just a-a but c-cold." She answered barely a whisper.
"Uhm, here you can have my jacket."
Ewan then wrapped Finsley in his burgundy jacket. Ewan wouldn't be cold even though he only had a t-shirt on.
Finsley, blushed ever so slightly on her pale complexion, thankful for Ewan's kindness.
_______________________Meanwhile, Clyde was watching all this romance going on and faked gagging at Ewan after he was done taking care of Finsley.
"Why don't you just tell her dude? It's obvious you guys have something going on." Clyde said whispering to Ewan.
"Now's not the best time to tell her that I like her Clyde, read the room. It has to be somewhere private and not in a fucking haunted house where I was shortly kidnapped at." Ewan said in a snarky manner.
Clyde giggled slightly, then just patted Ewan's shoulder.
"Hey man, whenever you're ready, I'll be here for you." For once, Clyde was being sincere.
"Wow, uhm, thanks Clyde." Ewan said with a warm smile.
"Y'know, I always wanted to ask you why you were always harsh on Finsley.." Ewan said while looking down.
Clyde sighed.
"Well, I have no excuse for my behaviour towards her, but I guess it's because she reminds me of someone I knew.." Clyde's mood dropped.
"Wait, who? You never told me about this."
"I don't know..It's kinda a sensitive topic.."
"Don't worry Clyde, I'm your best friend, and so is Finsley, you can trust us, even though Finsley is asleep, you can tell me." Ewan said in a reassuring manner.
"Alright, well, the reason why I'm especially mean to Finsley lately is because she reminded me of my sister, Ainsley. She passed away in the hospital a few days before we went on this trip. She had been sick for a while now with lung cancer and since she's really weak, she didn't make it..."
"Findley is just like Ainsley. She was timid, naive and gullible but kind at heart and brave. We were close and I visited her in the hospital, but when she passed, I couldn't really admit to myself that she's gone, so I wanted to distract myself by going on this trip with you guys, because y'all are my friends and I love you both, no homo though, heh." Clyde explained.
"Oh my god, Clyde, I'm so sorry to hear that, you never told me you had a sister before." Ewan hugged Clyde.
"I'm sorry, to both you and Finsley, I wasn't being myself because I missed her so much, so I took it out on the person that was similar to my sister, Finsley. And I'm sorry I never told you guys, I didn't want you guys to get to know her and then be just as sad as I am, because she's incredible. I guess that was kind of selfish of me."
"Clyde..you're not selfish, I understand, and thank you for thinking about us, we'll always be here for you, brainiac. We're not gonna leave your side until the day we die." Ewan said in a soft and comforting tone.
Clyde gripped tightly to Ewan like it was his last moments alive and cried quietly on his back. Ewan patted his back gently while they shared a moment together.
