8:30 pmPETER PARKER.
There seems to be a sign of break in. Lucy's diner. Walsh street." The muffled police radio echoed throughout Peter Parker's New York studio apartment. Peter stood up from his bed in a frantic rush. He then picked up his spider-suit from the floor and slipped it on. He made his way to the window (tripping the whole way there). "Okay, okay." Peter whispered as he opened his apartment window and put on his mask. He took one final deep breath before leaping out his window head first. Before he hit the ground, Peter webbed a nearby building, and swung over the people of New York. Peter enjoyed New York during the winter season. Though the cold weather could get annoying, Peter admired the snow. He thought it was beautiful. It made the city look better in a way. Peter looked down below him and watched as the civilians below took down their christmas lights. He smiled. "Come on, Christmas just happened!" Peter yelled from above.
Civilians looked up at the sky. They all pointed and yelled back. Peter could not make out a single thing they said, but he gave them a thumbs up regardless. He directed his focus back to Lucy's Diner. It was right ahead of him. Peter landed by the door of the restaurant. He opened the door calmly to take a look inside. Instead of seeing a criminal, Peter saw a group of cops. He noticed a chill in the air. The diner managed to be even colder than it was outside. Peter looked up at the ceiling to see the strangest thing... ice. The walls, covered in thick ice.
"My hands are stuck! What do I do?!" The robber cried looking down at his hands; they were frozen together in blood filled ice. The dark red color seemed disturbing to look at. Peter scrunched his face in disgust. The blood was enough to make anyone sick. The sounds of a man crying didn't make it any much bearable either. Peter wondered who did such a thing. He looked over to one of the officers. "What happened?"
The cop shrugged carelessly. "Job's done. You're late."
"Wait-" Peter laughed briefly. "What?" He furrowed his brows. He thought it was a strangely unprofessional way to speak. "You're late? What kind of response is that?" Peter responded with sass. The cop looked to Spiderman so briefly. "Some person in a mask showed up before you." The cop answered and Peter looked around. "They did this?" He observed the ice covered interior.
"Yup. Caught our thief, though." The cop chewed on gum. Peter scoffed. "Leaves a bit of a mess."
"So do you." The cop walked away leaving Peter speechless. He wasn't wrong... but why would he say that? It was so odd to have the police treat him like this . "Maybe it's the media", Peter thought. Recently, some cops have spoken out against vigilantes. It was ridiculous, at least, Peter thought so. How can anyone be mad at someone for saving people? If anything, vigilantes made their job easier.
"Spiderman." A young woman in a suit approached Peter. She had her hair in a tight bun, along with glasses. She was pretty. The woman had dark skin and little to no makeup on. "This is a crime scene." She looked at Peter. "It's no place to play dress- up." The woman said causing Peter to furrow his eyebrows. "What?"
"Please, see yourself out. This is a professional environment."
Peter scoffed. "I'm leaving." He rolled his eyes as he began to walk away. "I'll try to be more professional next time I do your jobs."
Peter walked out of the restaurant building. He felt a little insulted with what happened in the crime scene. He was used to being spoken to like that, but never by the local police department. Peter stood on the empty isolated streets. No one. The street would usually be packed once people heard word of Spiderman. He looked around for a moment. No one.
"Hey, Spidey,"A newspaper carrier suddenly approached Spider-man. He had a stack of papers in his hand. He was middle aged with a good amount of white hairs. Peter smiled. The eyes on his suit enlarged as he greeted the man with pleasure. "Oh, hey, man."
