Aira Ryūzaki's POV

"Seriously! When I call you please do pick up!" Satsuki yelled at me once I met her at school, "You have no idea how much I was worried about you!"

"Gomen Satsuki, I was really weak to even pick up my phone when you called. I did hear my phone ring but I didn't know it was from you," I apologised.

"Seriously you and Aomine-kun love to make me worry!" She crossed her arms.

"Aomine? What happened to him?" I ask out of curiosity.

"Well, Kise-Kun wasn't only the one who got injured during the match," My eyes went wide when I heard that.

"He got injured?"

"Hai. He wouldn't answer my calls and everything. I didn't know where he went after he yelled at me for asking him to go see a doctor," All I did was just sigh with frustration.

That's just like him. Back in middle school, he didn't want to go see a doctor as he is scared that the doctor might tell him he wouldn't be able to play for a while or forever.

"I still don't know whether he got it checked out," I heard Satsuki mumbling to herself before suddenly turning to me.

"Would you go and talk to him?"

"Huh? Are you crazy? You do know that if I talk to him we would end up in an argument. Besides, why would I care about him,"

"Your expression just now says that you do,"

"W..whatever!" I turned to leave and I heard Satsuki just chuckle.

Come on me care about him? Please, after what he has done to me there's no way I still care.

"What are you doing here?" I heard a familiar voice and I snapped out of my thoughts. Aomine was standing in front of me and I was on the rooftop.

Wait, rooftop?! How the heck did I even get here?

"Are you just going to stand there and not answer my question?" Aomine said with some annoyance in his tone.

"Satsuki asked me to come and talk to you about your injury," I simply said.

"What about it?"

"Have you gotten it checked out?"

"No," He replied immediately.

"Are you serious? If you got an injury, you should go and check it out! What if it's something serious and you can't play anymore huh?" I snapped.

"And why do you care?" That reply stunned me for a few seconds.

It's true. Why do I even care?

"Whatever, I'm leaving. If you don't want to get it checked out, it's none of my business anyway," I turned to leave feeling annoyed.

As I got to the entrance of the rooftop, I could see Miya standing there stunned and didn't know what to do as I made eye contact with her. I just chuckled and pull her along to our classroom.

When we sat down, she immediately said, "I am so sorry! I really didn't mean to eavesdrop!"

"It's fine. I don't mind anyways," I assured her. With my reply, that seem to calm down her just a bit but she still looked like she has something to say or ask.

"Is there anything else?" I ask.

"No! Nothing else!" She exclaimed.

"Okay?" I said and took out some homework from my bag that I didn't manage to complete throughout the days that I was absent from school.

Just as when I was about to start doing, Miya spoke up, "Actually...there is something I am very curious about." I just put down my pen to turn to her letting her know to continue.

"I am wondering how do you know Aomine and the rest of the GoM cause you know you are a girl on an all-boys basketball team in middle school," She continues.

"If I tell you all about it, it is really going to be a long story, and plus also it will bring back some bad memories," I replied while looking down at my paper.

"Oh! Then don't tell me at all! I really don't want you to suffer," She exclaimed.

"But I wouldn't mind telling you how it all started," I turned to face her with a smile and her face lit up with excitement.

Flashback

"Ha! I won again!" I dropped down to the ground panting hard.

"You've gotta work on your stamina if you want to get into the basketball team," Aomine came and sit next to me.

"Well, you see Daiki the only time I pant this hard is because I am going up against you," I finally sat up after I gain back my composure.

"This makes it to 50 wins for me and 49 wins for you,"

"Yeah yeah whatever," I replied still annoyed that he just beat me.

"I gotta head home! See you tomorrow! I'll come by your house with Satsuki so we can walk to school together!" Aomine said and off he went.

Middle school huh? Let's see how it goes.

Timeskip

"There's no girls basketball team?!" I exclaimed as I heard the news from Aomine.

"Yeah..." He replied with some sadness in his tone, "I knew how much you wanted to at least join a basketball team."

I just sighed and replied, "Well there's no choice then. I guess I'll just play basketball for fun." Not going to lie, I am actually crushed by the news.

"Urm...I know it's probably not good timing to ask you this but could you come and watch me during the tryouts? I want you to be there for support!"

I chuckled and replied, "Since when I wouldn't go and support you if you need me?" Aomine's face immediately lit up and started dragging me along.

"Then come on come on! The tryouts are about to start!" He exclaimed.

"You do know that I can walk on my own right?" I said but he didn't let go of me but just continue on.

I am going to stop here! Hope you guys enjoy this chapter and please do look forward to the next chapter as we are going to go deeper into Aira's past on how it all started:)
