Y/N
It has been 2 months since I saw a broken woman named Jennie. 2 months since I've started watching news just to hear something about her.
Sometimes good and almost all the time bad Jennie: The falling star one of the articles I've read online have those as its title.
I know that she might fail a company n shit but I know she won't ever fail as a human I trust in her. It's like we've built a deep connection with in
that nightToday is our graduation. Can you believe it after years and years of dropping class I'm finally letting this university go
"Hey, what's taking you too long to walk?" Rosé asked as we pass a few students in the hallway
"Nothing" I lied. I'm walking slow because I'm thinking of her
Her
Jennie
Kim
Jennie Kim
"We'll be late for the procession if you continue to walk that slow" Rose says
"Whatever" and I walked faster
::::::::::::
"Who'll be our speaker?" I asked Rosé
"They say, it's a surprise and they won't fail us" she replied
The processional music started and the line started to advance. One by one students taking their own designated seats
When all of us have taken our seats down. The baccalaureate mass started, this is my last mass here at the university.
Make a while it worth
Everything was going smoothly until the MC announced the guest
"Let us all welcome Jennie Kim" the bald middle-aged MC announced
Holy shit
She's here
The person I've been dying to see the past 2 months is here
She's really here
Holy shit
Jennie Kim
"Hi" she greeted us informally. Students around me started to whisper with each other as she held the mic firmly
"It's a pleasure to have this opportunity to be the guest this morning" It's also my pleasure to meet you again
Even if it's not just me you're meeting
But the whole graduating students.
"I was invited to be your speaker and I didn't want to decline the offer" she smiled to us And i dies
She seems different though
It feels like and looks like she's happier compared to when I saw her last 2 months ago
"I'm just ahead with you guys for 3 years" she's 28?
"So shall i start the boring part of the speech?" she joked and some of the students laughed a little
And I smiled
"So again I'm Jennie Kim if some you may know. When I was young I was very young and passionate with everything that i did despite the difference I had to deal with kids
Like when some of the kids started learning how to learn how to ride bikes I started to learn how to ride a horse so up til now I still don't know how to ride bike and still want to learn how to ride them
Years have pass and everyone expected me to be miss little perfect around everything
I was pressured to do things I didn't really want and me being being passionate about stuff started to die
Eventually survived things up to college, I did some jump testing and I've jump and skipped senior year so I was ahead amongst my batchmates
When I started working, I was not allowed to commit a single mistake or I was allowed to but my mindset and my personality didn't allow me to because of the constant expectations given to me when I was young
I was rising but everything around me seems to turn dark and I've lost my happiness. I came to the point where I became cold and numb about everything
But a single night changed that..."
My heartbeat dropped as her gaze went to mine and our eyes connected
She seems a little frozen but quickly composed herself but me? I was shaking on my seat
"...she change the concept I knew about life. Even though it was a very quick night she taught me a lot about life
She taught me that it's okay to commit mistake because all of us are humans. And she taught me the most important thing is to always look for yourself first before your audience
You should care about your happiness first before the reputation that people thinks of you.
And by the time that I've learn to care for myself first that was the time I became contented again
It may take a while for us to heal, and to find happiness again but I'm telling you that as long as you try and try you'll reach it
There will come times that you'll want to breakdown and end everything but know that everything you're going through right now has a purpose"
The whole time our gazes meet, she never took it away from my mine and I too, never took away from her
"My story is not that inspiring nor anything but what I just really wanted to say is that.
Think of yourself first, and others comes second. So again congratulation batch 2019!" she finished and every students, parents, professors erupted into series of claps and howls
After that, the ceremony continued and continued until it was time for our block to receive our diplomas
I was hoping that she'll be the one to hand us our diploma but your girl can only wish
"Y/l/n, Y/n" after years and years I have finally took a hold of my diploma
After some of my blockmates... "Park, Chaeyoung" They called my friend and I of course clapped my ass out
The ceremony did come to an end and I was only thinking of a certain brunette I pushed pass through the crowd of students still wearing my toga
And I saw her back
But she was heading towards the ext with 2 bulky guys to her. sides
"Wait!" I yelled and she froze
JENNIE
"Wait!" someone shouted and I cannot be wrong
Y/n
So ever so slowly I turned my body around and saw her all
Sweaty
Hot
She smiled to me despite her catching breaths.
"Hi" she said and smiled to me I melted I missed her
Even though we have only known each other of a night
"Hey" I replied and smiled too
