The Croods: Follow the light

Ch 6

Thus began the rightful journey of Guy and the Croods.

The family came across the punch monkey's as they walked through the forest. Grug gasped and brought his fists up and the monkey did so as well in return.

A banana was placed in the monkey's hand. The monkey smiled and Guy went around with Sandy and Belt handing banana's to the other monkeys.

Guy gave Grug a banana to hand out but he threw it and he fell as he took a step on it.

They came across a small canyon where below the Sabertooth cat growled as it paced back and forth.

"Huh?" Grug hummed in confusion when Guy started grabbing dried vines from the edge.

With the dried vines they made stilts and walked across at a safe height. The family exclaimed as they tried to get their bearings as they went across.

"Ah!...So, how did the...Leopard fly?" Eev asked as she tripped over into Gyys arms.

"She jumped on the sun...and rode it to Tomorrow." He said as he showed her the sky.

"Wow..." She sighed.

Grug growls and uses his stilts to get across so he can separate them. "No, no, no." He grumbled and he stepped on the Saber's paw making it yelp as he wasn't looking.

"Ha!" Grug laughed and smacked it with a stilt. Enraged the Saber growled and used its claws to swipe at his stilts making them smaller and smaller.

Grug yelped and tried to hurry across, but he wasn't fast enough as he got bitten.

The family walked through the forest, Grug was now missing a piece of his clothes which revealed us cheetah print underwear.

They made it to a steep cliff and Grug tried to climb down using the veey narrow edges. He yelled as he slipped when he stopped he pressed his back up the wall.

Meanwhile, the rest of the family jumped down, sliding down the steep cliff with leaves. Grug gasped as he dodges them but he slipped and fell.

"Whee!" Sandy squealed as she and Belt rode on a rock like a surfboard.

"Hi, Dad!" Thunk grreeted as Grug rolled passed him. "Bye Dad!" He waved as Grug slammed painfully on a rock.

They came across a rain cloud as it poured over them. Grug yelped as he tried to fight off the rain.

"You've seen rain before, right?" Guy asked as he walked up to Eev.

"We...don't get out much." Eev said as she watched Grug freak out. Guy opened up an umbrella made of leaves and branches. Belt pulls Eev and squeeze them under the one umbrella.

They blushed as they were so close to each other. Admiring his work Belt jumped off of Guy.

*Thunderclap!*

Eev gasped and flinched into Guy's chest.

Grug's eyes widened as Guy hesitantly tried to put his hand on her waist. He rushed over and yanked the umbrella causing the teens to glare at him.

He froze when he got struck by lightning.  Guy as well as the other members opened up their umbrellas and walksd through the rain.

"Ooh..." Eev sighed as she and her sister tried to reach out to the crystal clear water in front of them.

"You guys, it looks dangerous." Grug said pulling them back.
