Unexpected Happenings [UNEXPECTED SERIES #1]

Chapter 12

"Hello?" I pick up the phone on it's second ring. 

"Miss Kiara Elise, we would like you to come by the school next week so we could show you things around so you could get familiar with it." The lady says and I mentally scream. 

"Wait, does this mean I got it?" I ask just to make sure. 

"Yes, ma'am. We are very impressed with you and your experiences. Also, the Principal was wanting to fix up an appointment with you to discuss something that I think will be ideal for you. When will you be free?" I am literally stopping myself from screaming so loud. I can't  believe I got a job! 

"Thank you so much, um...what's your name ma'am?" I ask, a little hesitant. I don't want to sound too excited or anything. 

"Marianne. And no worries. I'm looking forward to seeing you"  Marianne says and I smile. I'm liking her already. 

"Thank you. And about the appointment with the Principal, is it possible if I meet him the day I come to school next week?" I ask her. 

"Of course! When will you be coming, love?" I quickly peek at my calendar. 

"How is Monday? That's in two days?" 

"Great! Looking forward to meeting you, Kiara" she says and I say the same before hanging up.

"Harry!" I run to his room, not bothering to knock but jump on his bed. "Get up! It's ten in the morning!" I pat him on his bare shoulder. I feel a tad bit bad though because his sleeping body is just so peaceful to look at. But he has to get up to hear the good news. 

"Whattt? It's just ten! Wake me up again at one..." his groggy voice says and I smile. 

"Fine. I'm telling Josie first then. You'll be the last to know" I smile cheekily before slowly getting off his bed. 

"Not happening! I'm up! I'm up!" His body shoots up and I laugh at his sudden awakening. 

"Well, good morning to you too" I remark, laughing again and he smiles. I give him the glass of water that is on the night stand and sit next to him. 

"You're up early for a Friday" he says after gulping down the glass of water. 

"It's not Saturday, Harry to wake up late. You're supposed to be in work might I add" I remark and he nods. 

"True. Who cares? I'm sure they're having a great time without me around." He pushes his brown curls away from his face. "Now, what's the good news? That's literally the whole reason I woke up" he says and I smile at what he said.  

*Harry's POV*

"True. Who cares? I'm sure they're having a great time without me around." I say bluntly. "Now, what's the good news? That's literally the whole reason I woke up" I say truthfully and I see her smile.

"Well, thank you for getting up..." she mumbles but that was loud enough for me to hear. "I um, I got the librarian post!" She suddenly says a little louder. 

"You got the job!?" 

"Yes! Thank you so much, Harry!" She smiles. 

"I'm so happy you got it. When do you start?" I ask curiously. 

"So um I have to go to the school on Monday to have a look and to see how things work and all." She tells me and I nod. "Plus, after my little tour of the school, I have an appointment with the Principal.." she says a little nervously. 

"Oh okay..well, good luck" I smile and she returns it. 

"That's that. Now, what do you say, I'll get you your breakfast and then we can hang out downstairs..or you have other plans?"
