Jayden's POV
4 days later
Well it's been two days since I've been home. Father has been in a meeting with Jakob the beta the entire time. When I asked to join I got yelled at for interrupting. Lyrina and I have become amazing friends, turns out she's from Scotland. She tells me about her family, a lil of her past and how she became a rouge. Lyrina with her bright red hair, crystal green eyes, creamy tan you could say we're somewhat twins.
"Jlynn, would you come and help with this real fast!" My lil sister Robin asks running up to me with her history homework.
"Sure Rob! What is it this time?" I ask taking the paper from her.
"It's about the great depression." She says looking at the page. As I look at the page, I recall my U.S. history lessons from a year ago.
"Alright, how much have you gotten so far?" I ask turning to her.
"I've gotten half way." She replies. Okay your probably wondering why an eleven year old is doing U.S. history... Well my sisters and I have always been smart students so we've have skipped a few grades ahead of age groups.
Its been a year since I graduated and no I don't plan to go to college. Jordan is the next to graduate which will be in a year or so.
"Alright, let's see what I can remember." I joke as I lead her back to the house.
30 minutes later
With her homework finished Robin runs off with her friends. Boredom sets in and I find myself in front of the mail box. I pull out the mail looking anything with my name on it.
My eyes widen at the red letter with my name. I run to my father's office and barge in without knocking.
"Father!" I yell as I come to a halt.
"What now Jayden?" He asks back annoyed. Even with his old age, he still has the strength of a twenty year old.
I hand him the letter as I try to catch my breath. He takes it and reads it, his eyes cloud and soften with unshed tears.
"My baby girl..." He cries. I walk over to his chair, and he hugs me like he used to before my sisters were born. He cries into my neck as the letter falls onto his desk. I return his hug with unshed tears in my eyes. I lock eyes with Jakob as he finishes reading the letter as well.
As me and my Father pull apart, my family and Lyrina walk in. Lyrina walks towards Jakob and with a soft smile he tells her and my family what is about to happen to me.
( I was going to end here but y'all deserve more)
"Jayden as received a letter that is a request from the werewolf king, as humans know him as general Thames, that she and her troop will be shipped out to Iraq to combat the rouges that have decided to wage war with the European packs. She has been called on to lead the front lines to defend the Moon Rise pack and win back their land. She leaves the day after tomorrow."
By the time he finishes my family and Lyrina are in tears. I walk to my mom and wrap her in a tight hug, whispering comfort into her ear.
"I promise, I will come back to y'all! I will be your Alpha! It's two years, the time will fly besides you will have the Alpha ball to worry about." I smile at my family which they return with their own.
"Looks like we have some packing to do!" My sister Sam says with a proud grin.
With a chuckle, I reply "Yea I guess we do!"
2 days later
With bags packed, I wave goodbye to my family. My Father though has one last gift for me.
"I want you to have this." He says handing me a small black box.
"Don't open it now, wait till ur on the ship." He says hugging me for last time.
"I'll be back in two years don't get soft on me now, old man." I reply with a grin as I pull away from him.
I climb into my truck and head towards the airport from there to the docks from there Italy, then Iraq.
