Peter was always the one left out in the friend group and always felt like the outcast and the black sheep. The marauders never did anything about it because to be quite honest even tho we love them they are very self-centred.
Finally when Lily starts finally like James back (much to his surprise) the Gryffindor girls and Marauders all start hanging out in a group. Marlene soon realises how Peter is feeling because they are so bloody observant and so they do anything in their power to make him feel happy; whether that is baking cookies with him in the kitchens while the others are in detention or deliberately failing a test so he wouldn't feel too bad about himself. I mean they protected him at all costs (there was also a rumour going around that they were prank if anyone who hurt him in any way). They also had a VERY strong word with the Marauders about how Peter was obviously feeling.
This chain of events meant that Peter felt that he was loved and that although he wasn't always happy, he did know that there was people who loved him and cared for him, who would miss him if he was gone.
That made him not feel the need to prove himself worthy and so, he became Uncle Wormy to a young Harry with alive parents (and he never betrayed them because I acc love a happy ending)

I so sorry for literally not posting in months ik how annoying it can be I'm just struggling a lot mental health wise rn. Anyway sorry this chapter is absolute crap I am wayyyy too tired.
Also I genuinely love the little photo things at the top of the chapter. There are all so funny and I honestly think that they all definitely happened.
