There are always days where your mind starts to drift, further and further away from a supposedly 'useful' maths lecture which your brain cannot comprehend. A refuge from the constant headaches, somewhere where you can relax and imagine that school was a thing of a past.

Perhaps you'd rather be playing games in your headspace, hanging out with friends, or even going on legendary quests. As humans do, we like to take the easy way out and daydream about these endless possibilities.

Daydreaming is often a way to escape from reality and focus on the better moments in life. It never hurts to slip away during a boring class, but every time you live in that 'better world' you're avoiding something. Something that shouldn't be avoided. Something that could shatter your life.

Meet Sunny, a perfect example of this. Sunny isn't your average teenager, although it might seem like it at first. He's a 16-year-old boy who hasn't left his house for 4 years. Cutting off any social contact, he lives with his mum who cares for him but is often busy. Each day is just a drawn-out obstacle to get through, until night greets him with open arms. Sleep. Inside the pitch-black room, Sunny is left in a deep slumber, while Omori awakens in the depths of his dreams.

Welcome to white space. You've been living here for as long as you can remember. White space is white and empty, consisting of only a tissue box to 'wipe your sorrows away', a computer, sketchbook, black lightbulb, and Mewo, your cat. A place simply to survive, but not live. In the distance, a white door casts a shadow. Beyond it lies Headspace, along with Basil, Aubrey, Hero, Kel...and Mari.

They're all there, huddled on a picnic blanket taking photos of precious memories. No sorrows or fears lie here, only an escape from the truth. Sunny don't know what it is that he's hiding from, but you do. You've been guarding it from him for the past 4 years, and you'll never let it hurt him again. 3 days left.
